Looking after health, wellbeing, and safety includes recognising when support may be needed.
Alcohol and drug-related issues can affect anyone. The earlier concerns are identified and addressed, the more likely it is that individuals can access support before a serious incident occurs.
If you are worried about your own alcohol or drug use, don't ignore the signs. Reaching out for help is a positive step that can protect your health, wellbeing, career, and safety.
Equally important is speaking up if you are concerned about a colleague.
If someone appears impaired, unusually fatigued, or not fit for work, raising your concerns could prevent an injury or save a life.
At IDSL, support is available through:
Your line manager
The Health & Safety team
Human Resources
Employee wellbeing support services
Creating a safe workplace is everyone's responsibility. Looking out for one another and having the confidence to speak up helps ensure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.
If you need help, ask for it.
If you have concerns, raise them.
If you see something unsafe, speak up.
