Statement from Jade Phoenix, Managing Director of Zodiac Events Limited Trading as
Zodiac Bar:
With a heavy heart, I want to announce that Zodiac Bar and Karaoke at 119 Hampstead Road, Camden, has ceased
trading as of this week.
I sincerely thank every customer for their custom, loyalty, and support over the last five years.
I founded Zodiac because I wanted a happy,
positive family vibe place and an all inclusive space.
As a trans-founded and run venue, I wanted to bring people together from across the LGBTQ+
community and allies.
My founding ethos was simple: everyone should have somewhere to feel safe, accepted and
free to be themselves, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity or background.
I am also proud to make Zodiac one of London’s most respected karaoke venues, which matters
deeply to me.
At its home at 119 Hampstead Road, Zodiac has always sought to offer a warm welcome, a
platform for performers and a place where friendships could grow. I am proud of the moments of
joy, creativity and connection shared within its walls.
I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the staff, performers, DJs, hosts, promoters and community
partners whose talent and dedication brought the venue to life.
I recognise that this will be sad news for many who found friendship and a sense of belonging at
Zodiac.
To everyone who made it a part of your life: thank you for sharing your nights, your celebrations,
and your voices with us.
However, this is not the end. I, Lady Phoenix will rise back from the ashes. The Zodiac era may be over, but I intend to return stronger and mightier than before, so watch this space.
