Flat roof completed in Ware for RR BUILDING

This one was installed using a 3-layer torch-on felt system, applied over a pre-structured warm deck prepared by RR Building.

The full roofing build-up has now been completed, with close attention paid to the detailing around the perimeter, upstands and abutment areas to make sure the roof is fully weathered and finished to a high standard.

The main flat roof is now complete and ready for the skylight lantern installation, along with the remaining finishing works to the wall abutments once the surrounding construction is finalised.

A proper warm roof build-up paired with a 3-layer torch system gives a strong, durable finish and is a great option for extensions and flat roof areas like this.

Another tidy job completed in Ware, Hertfordshire, and another roof ready for the next stage of the build.

Small flat roof replacement in St Albans.

Torch-on flat roof re-covered with a new lead skirt, plus remedial works to the valley. Also sorted a few broken tiles and removed an old satellite dish while we were up there.

Waste cleared, scaffold coming down shortly.

Flat roof replacement in Barnet.

From the outside this one looked fine - fascias had even been repainted recently. Once we got the roof open it told a different story. Cold deck system, no ventilation, and the deck had been rotting away underneath for years. None of it visible until you’re actually up there.

Stripped it all back and upgraded to a proper warm deck system - insulation above the deck, no cold bridging, no trapped moisture this time. Fixed the cause, not just the symptom.

Water tested and signed off before we left, like every roof we complete.

This is exactly why a repaint or a decent-looking exterior doesn’t tell you anything about what’s happening underneath. Cold deck roofs with no ventilation are a rot problem waiting to surface, it’s just a matter of when.

Our recent Slate roof replacement in Hampstead, NW London.

We took this one over after another contractor’s “new roof” started leaking almost straight away. Once we got up there it wasn’t hard to see why - slates masticed in rather than properly fixed, flashings missing round the walls and Veluxs, lead nowhere near the thickness it should’ve been, and the dormer done in fibreglass that was already failing. Leaks in more than one spot.

Stripped it all back and did it properly - slates fixed correctly, lead flashings to the right spec, dormer rebuilt right this time.

Roofs don’t forgive shortcuts. It’s the stuff you can’t see once it’s covered up - the lead, the flashings, the fixings - that decides whether it lasts or you’re back up there in a year’s time.

We’re looking for a flat roof labourer to join the team full-time , starting immediately.

Working across LONDON mainly NORTH WEST / NORTH LONDON/ HERTFORDSHIRE

You’ll be working alongside experienced roofers on flat roof installations and repairs, with some exposure to pitched roof work.
What you’ll do
• Assist with torch-on felt, GRP and single-ply flat roof installations
• Strip out old roof coverings and prepare decks for new membrane
• Handle and move roofing materials safely on site
• Support pitched roof repairs when required
• Work from height using ladders, scaffold and podium steps as required
• Keep the work area tidy and follow site safety procedures

Nobody enjoys ringing a roofer.😯

You are about to spend serious money on something you cannot see, on the word of someone you have just met. Roofing has the reputation it has for a reason.

So we do it the other way round. You get told what is actually wrong, what can wait and what cannot, and a price that does not move after you have agreed it.

If a repair will do the job, we will say so.
