Just look at those colours even in mid October on my Salvia's, they may be a little leggy but they are great for ecology this time of year as we often see bees and even a hummingbird hawk moth regularly visiting

I think it might be that time of year to start wearing my jumpers again!

Due to increasing costs I'm stopping green waste disposal as there's now a minimum charge of 1 Tonne at my disposal point! That coupled with other associated costs means I feel it's no longer a via option for me to offer.
Where possible do encourage the use of sustainable gardening practises like composting, as I chipper/shredder I can even produce wood chippings/bark mulch if there's enough material

A good day's graft today saw me getting dirty and very sweaty as I rotavated a lawn to prepare a seed bed, as sometimes happens there's a slight change in direction for the better and this saw a sloped lawn changed into a tiered lawn.
I'll be heading back next week to make some more adjustments and improvements including plenty more raking and leveling before over seeding and the application of germination fleece to stop the birds getting a free meal, while producing a micro climate to promote growth.

As V-Power diesel was only 15p/L more than my local fuel station diesel I put the good stuff in my van yesterday, the difference over the 40 litres (half a tank) was only £6 which is negligible but product received is vastly different!

Yes if I went for quantity over quality I would have only got about 3 more litres of diesel probably achieving the same mileage but the cheaper product wouldn't have been as good for my engine meaning no real savings in the long run.

I understand the need to make saving where you can but you can't compare apples to oranges and short gains to long term results 😉
