Very pleased our planning application got granted permission : for the interior rearrangement of 4 C3 units and the extension of the LGF/GF levels of the lower unit in a 5 storey terrace building within a conservation area

A challenging application, with lots of variables... we managed to address all the concerns raised by officers and neighbours with careful design decisions

Initial testing of a contemporary vs traditional approach for an upwards extension to an old building in a conservation area, between two Grade II listed buildings... (contemporary/traditional/existing)

The design is progressing for this loft conversion in Haringey. A timber lightwell to bring light to the existing storey, a spacious landing, an L-shaped roof extension to mirror the adjacent building's extension, a small open space, two bedrooms and a feature bathroom space with a large custom sized tub area. The building benefits from a larger than normal width (the only on the terrace) which allows for a bit more complexity than the standard bedroom/ensuite arrangement.

Working on something a bit different, an interpretation of traditional interior features with a contemporary staircase to allow light to flow through the stairwell. entrance/reception and circulation spaces, well defined, to allow the rest of the house to transition slowly to brighter interior materials/colours/features to reflect the occupants preferences and lifestyle.

After the brief has been clarified, a first design approach for a new rear extension is underway. Bringing light further into the plan, improving outdoor/indoor connections, adding much needed spaces, improving the lifestyle of the occupants.

Testing light for a ground floor extension - using real location and time data. Fins for privacy from the specific angles of the neighbours windows, glass corners to minimise impact, oriel window seat to improve the connection to the rear garden, large skylights and sliding doors. A new design will emerge after these initial test sketches - more to come.
