Restoring the detail. 👀

On a recent heritage project in Baker Street, BCC carefully restored a commercial office back to its former glory, with particular attention given to the original ornate plaster cornice.

The existing paint was painstakingly stripped back to the bare plaster before sections of the cornice were rebuilt and repaired by hand, piece by piece.

A lot of time, patience and craftsmanship went into getting the details right, and the finished result speaks for itself.

Maintenance & Handyman Wanted 🛠️ – Central London
We’re looking for an honest, reliable person who is genuinely looking for a long-term, full-time job and wants to become part of a family-run company.
It sounds simple, but finding the right person has been harder than expected!
The role will involve travelling around Central London to carry out general maintenance, inspections and assessments across our various sites. Every day will be slightly different, so we’re looking for someone practical, dependable and able to use their common sense to get things done.
The person we’re looking for:
• Previous experience as a handyman, maintenance worker or in general construction is preferred.
• You don’t need specialist qualifications or training, but you should have a good understanding of basic construction and trades.
• You should be practical, willing to learn and able to work things out for yourself.
• Honesty and reliability are extremely important to us.
• You must have the legal right to work in the UK and be able to provide the relevant documentation.
• A driving licence would be helpful but is not essential.
• We will provide you with a company van and all the tools you need to carry out your work.
• Where specialist work is required, you’ll have support from experienced tradespeople.
• Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to work hard, learn and build a long-term career with us.
What we offer:
• £28,000–£35,000 per year, depending on experience and the person we find.
• Company van provided.
• Tools and equipment provided.
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm.
• 28 days’ holiday, including bank holidays.
• Training and qualifications paid for by the company where appropriate.
• A supportive working environment where you’ll have the opportunity to learn and develop.
• A genuine long-term position within a family-run company.

Project complete | Knightsbridge ✅

A recently completed seven-storey townhouse refurbishment in the heart of Knightsbridge.

From MEP alterations to coordinating works across seven floors, the project called for careful planning and close attention to detail throughout.

Now this property has been handed over to BCC Maintenance for ongoing management and PPM.

Another one across the line.

A commercial office renovation in Baker Street, where the goal was never simply to modernise, it was to preserve what made the building special.

Carefully restoring the original ornate plasterwork back to its former glory, while introducing a refined, contemporary workspace designed for modern business.

Could plug-in solar panels actually make your property LESS safe? ☀️🏠

Here’s the twist: solar panels themselves aren’t the problem. The way they’re installed can be.

From 27 August, compliant plug-in solar systems will become permitted in the UK, offering homeowners, tenants and property owners a simpler way to generate their own electricity.

But before plugging one in, ask:

🔌 Is the electrical installation suitable?
🏗️ Is the balcony, wall, roof or mounting point structurally sound?
🌧️ Are cables and connections protected from the elements?
🔥 Could poor installation create overheating or fire risks?
🏠 Do you need permission from a landlord, freeholder or management company?

The answer isn't to avoid plug-in solar; It's to treat it like part of the property and not just another appliance.
