A skylight is only as good as its installation. Many fail because the preparation is skipped. We don’t cut corners.
Here’s a look at the structural work behind a leak-proof installation:
- Solid Foundation: Before the skylight goes in, we build a robust timber curb bolted securely to the roof deck. This is the first line of defense against water ingress.
- Structural Integrity: We don’t just cut a hole in the roof. We reinforce the opening from below with new joists and structural hangers to ensure the roof can support the new load without sagging.
- Seamless Finish: The final step is tying a high-quality flat roofing system directly up the curb and under the skylight flashing for a completely sealed finish.
