Stopped by site for a few last-minute touch ups and got to see this bathroom finished, which is always such a good feeling.

I’ve honestly been working with some really lovely clients lately and it makes such a difference to the whole process.

Working alongside Emma Palmer has been a highlight too, she’s incredibly talented when it comes to managing trades, shifting ideas and all the challenges that come with it.

And these mosaic zellige floors… definitely no joke, you really need someone you trust for this kind of work. But in the end, so worth all the blood, sweat and tears. ♥️♥️♥️

Let’s talk about Zellige 🧡

This is my speciality and something I’ve spent years perfecting, a big part of the process is making sure people understand what makes it different before starting!

Because zellige is handmade rather than machine produced, it’s good to make sure clients fully understands its natural characteristics before installation.

Zellige is not a uniform product. You should expect variation in colour, tone, glaze thickness and sheen from tile to tile. Shade differences, even within the same batch, are completely normal and part of what creates depth in the finished surface. ▪️

Edges are often slightly irregular and the surface can include small pits, dimples or gentle undulations from the hand cutting and traditional firing process. Tiles may also not sit perfectly flat once installed. These are not defects, they are inherent features of authentic zellige. 🟨

Because of this, it needs a different approach from standard ceramic or porcelain. Careful planning, considered layout and experienced installation are key to getting a result that works. 😇

Looking back at last year’s projects and this one has to be my fave 🤍
A fully custom floor for - Lake Como inspired, and a little problem-solving magic when the original tiles were out of stock.
I got cutting and created this piece using my own zellige collection, paired with the most stunning white tiles and pattern from Finished with a custom pearl,grey + almond grout to keep everything soft and natural.
An insane amount of time and patience went into this one… and I cannot wait to share the shoot images once they are live✨

Some of my favourite zellige tiles to work with 🤍
These stunning terracotta squares from , paired with an almond grout.

They feel like they’ve always been there, and feel timeless, elegant, and beautifully subtle.

Finished with a walnut trim from KTS, cut to size, filled, and glued for a clean edge.

These tiles needed multiple rounds of sealing, but it was 100% worth it. The fireplace was re-centred, Ditra matting laid (working across both concrete base and floorboards), and an extra-strong adhesive used due to the weight of the hearth and backing.

This beautiful blue fireplace will always be a favourite of mine 💙

Keeping the original tiles down the sides and building a box to cover and tile the inside and hearth was the perfect balance between updating an old, tired fireplace and preserving its original beauty.

These stunning blue tiles from the amazing paired with a rich brown grout, truly make the whole feature sing.

A few pics of my very fun job this week - this beaut chequered fireplace using the best tiles from 🟫🟦🥰

Had to completely re-roof the fireplace using ply, and a hell of a lot of glue! 😅 Finished it off with charcoal grout to match the existing surround for that seamless look 🔥
