Open plan living. Love it or overrated?

For years, everyone wanted walls knocked down. Now we are hearing something very different from homeowners.

Some love it. It feels spacious and modern, great for families and entertaining, and lets in so much more light.

Others are done with it. There is nowhere to escape the noise, cooking smells travel through the entire house, it is hard to heat efficiently, and there is no privacy when working from home.

We have worked on both. Open plan extensions and projects where clients asked us to put the walls back.
