Swipe to see the transformation ➡️

This one started life as a tired patch of worn paving and weeds, but our clients wanted it to become a welcoming entrance that reflected their beautiful home while still working hard for everyday family life.

By combining a contemporary driveway with soft, Mediterranean-inspired planting, we've created a front garden that's practical and beautiful.

Plants include fragrant lavender, elegant grasses, playful alliums and (our absolute favourite!) a wisteria that will one day wrap itself around the front of the house. 🌿💜

There's even a green roof on the bin store, welcoming planters by the door and evergreen planting on the boundaries providing privacy without adding more hard landscaping. Because we believe the hardest-working gardens should be some of the most beautiful too.

After all, your front garden is the first thing you see when you come home.....it should make you smile ✨

With thanks to the brilliant Duncan Pantony for the hard landscaping and How Green Nursery LTD for providing the beautiful plants.

✨ Swipe to see the before, during and after! ➡️🌿

These two courtyard gardens had all the ingredients to be something special... they just needed a little Goldfinch magic! ✨

Our clients loved their beautiful contemporary home, but the gardens felt a bit too hard, overlooked and, if we're honest, not somewhere you'd rush outside with your morning coffee.

By softening the space with layers of naturalistic planting, ornamental grasses and year-round structure, we've created two calm, green spaces that feel like an extension of the house.

There's now more privacy, more movement, more wildlife and plenty of places to stop, sit and soak it all in. 🐝🌾

One of our favourite parts of this project? Looking back through the kitchen doors and seeing how the planting now frames every view from inside the house. We always say a garden should look just as beautiful from indoors as it does when you're sitting in it! 💚

What a fantastic planting day at Stanley Arts yesterday! 🌿💚

We were delighted to see the community come together for the Green Spaces, Green Minds Community Planting Day, bringing the new courtyard garden to life.

Earlier this year Stanley Arts commissioned us to create the planting design for the space, and one of the highlights of the project was running a community workshop where local people helped choose the planting palette and shape the final design. Seeing those ideas become reality yesterday, with so many volunteers rolling up their sleeves to help plant, was incredibly rewarding.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to dig, plant, water and celebrate. We can’t wait to watch the garden flourish and become a beautiful space for people, pollinators and the whole Stanley Arts community to enjoy. 🌸🐝

First time in a while I managed to spend some time in my garden today, soaking up the winter sun ☀️ The first signs of spring are starting to show, and a few winter-flowering favourites really caught my eye—so I had to share a few photos.
If your garden is making you feel a bit sad right now, get in touch. We can help create planting plans full of winter interest to make you smile next year 🌸

Starting the new year by sowing sweet peas for summer 🌸On this bright but chilly winter morning, I’ve been feeling inspired by A Year Full of Flowers by Sarah Raven
I’m using simple toilet roll tubes as root trainers, filled with multi-purpose compost — an easy and sustainable way to get seedlings off to a strong start. Sarah recommends some beautiful varieties, and I’ve chosen ‘Matucana’ for its incredible scent.
A little winter sowing goes a long way towards a summer full of flowers 💚
