Price of running appliances will double
-From October the average annual household energy bill is expected to surge by 81pc due to Russia’s war on Ukraine and huge demand for a limited of gas.
-it is thought the cost of using gas to heat a four-bedroom house to a room temperature of between 20.5c and 21.5c will soon rise to £3,105 a year under the October price cap. This is compared to the current cost of around £1,716.
-for example, looking at the running costs for 11 household appliances will spend around £232 more on cooking and cleaning appliances in the three months from October, if the prices continue to rise the same appliances may cost £613 to run in the first three months this is twice what they cost now.
This winter’s expectations price cap:
-To run a tumble dryer, it will cost up to £1.15
-To run a washing machine, it will cost up to £1.53
-To run a dishwasher, it will cost up to 77p.
For example, a family of four who use their dishwasher once a day can expect to spend £31.74 more than they do now. Should that same family each shower for five minutes twice a day their bill will increase by £147.20 from October.
-Gas oven costs about 62p to heat for an hour come October that will have almost doubled to £1.12.
-Kettle costs around 4p to boil, assuming you boil the kettle 3 times a day it will cost you £17.66 under the first three months of the new price cap.
-Price cap is due to be revised again before January, this will be revised every 3 months instead of 6.
-Currently the unit rate for electricity, which dictates how much money you spending using appliances is capped at 29p perkWh, while for gas it is 7p.
-When the April price cap was announced the average annual estimated house hold bill rose by 54pc- to £1,971. In January when the cap goes up again the average annual estimated to rise to £4,266 an increase of 117pc from April.
