Bath scratch repair – before & after

Not every damaged bath needs replacing.

This acrylic bath had a number of deep scratches and surface gouges caused during previous work. The damaged areas were cleaned, filled and carefully sanded back until they were level with the original surface.

Once the repairs were smooth, the colour was matched to the original white finish and sprayed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding bath. The final step was polishing the repaired area to restore the original gloss.

The result is a clean, durable cosmetic repair that blends naturally with the rest of the bath, helping the customer avoid the cost and disruption of replacing it.

At Magic Restore, we specialise in repairing baths, sinks, shower trays and other hard surfaces, saving time, money and unnecessary waste whenever a replacement isn't needed.

When cosmetic repairs reach their limits.

This dining table had suffered a heavy impact that left a large hole in the surface. Instead of replacing the entire table, we carried out a cosmetic repair by rebuilding the damaged area, colour matching it by hand and recreating the wood grain to blend with the original finish.

The repair itself was successful. However, a few days later, a fine crack appeared on one side of the repaired area.

The reason wasn't the repair. The impact had damaged the internal structure of the table. Tables like this are made from outer panels with internal supports between them. Because some of those supports had broken during the impact, the surface was no longer fully stable. Even after doing everything possible to reinforce and stabilise the repair, movement inside the table caused a hairline crack to appear.

This is an important difference between cosmetic damage and structural damage.

A cosmetic repair can restore the appearance of the surface and often avoids the cost of replacing the whole item. However, if the internal structure has been compromised by the original impact, no cosmetic repair can permanently restore the strength of the damaged core without rebuilding or replacing the table itself.

We always explain these situations honestly before starting the work. Our goal is never to promise perfection, but to achieve the best possible result while helping our clients avoid unnecessary replacement costs whenever it is technically possible.

Last-minute panel repair before handover.

This panel was accidentally chipped just before the project was due to be handed over at a museum in Central London.

Instead of replacing the whole panel, we repaired the damaged corner on site. The area was prepared, rebuilt to match the original shape, then came the most important part: colour matching. By mixing different tones and spraying light coats, we blended the repair into the existing finish until it matched the surrounding panel as closely as possible.

Repairs like this help contractors avoid unnecessary replacement costs and project delays while keeping the finish looking clean and professional.

Bath Chip Repair – Before & After

A small chip in a bathtub might seem minor, but it can quickly become more noticeable over time.

For this repair, the damaged area was carefully prepared, rebuilt with a specialist filler, sanded flush with the original surface, colour matched by hand and spray finished to blend with the surrounding bath.

The goal is always to achieve the most natural cosmetic repair possible while avoiding the cost and disruption of replacing the entire bath.

If your bath has chips, scratches or impact damage, a professional cosmetic repair is often the most practical solution.

Chipped Worktop Repair – Before & After

A chipped corner doesn't always mean your worktop needs replacing.

For this project, the damaged corner was carefully rebuilt using a specialist filler, shaped back to its original profile, hand colour matched to replicate the stone effect and sealed to match the surrounding finish.

The aim of every cosmetic repair is to make the damage blend naturally with the rest of the surface while preserving the original worktop.

Repairs like this are a cost-effective alternative to replacement and can often be completed in a single visit with minimal disruption.

Can Every Cracked Floor Tile Be Repaired?

One of the questions we get asked most is whether every cracked floor tile can be repaired.

The short answer is no.

A cosmetic repair is only suitable when the tile is structurally stable. If the tile is loose, moving, or the crack is caused by movement in the floor, the crack is very likely to come back, even after a high-quality repair.

Before carrying out any repair, we always assess:
• Whether the tile is firmly bonded to the floor.
• If there is any movement or structural issue.
• The size and type of the damage.
• Whether a cosmetic repair is the right solution.

In this case, the damaged tile was stable, allowing us to rebuild the chipped area, carefully colour match the surface and blend the repair with the original finish.

Being honest with our customers is just as important as delivering a quality repair. If we believe a repair won't last because of structural movement, we'll always recommend the right solution rather than carrying out work that isn't likely to perform long term.

Repairs & Spraying Services – Before & After

Not every damaged cladding panel needs to be replaced.

For this project, several exterior balcony panels had scratches, impact damage and coating failure. Instead of replacing the panels, we carried out a cosmetic repair by preparing the damaged areas, filling where required, sanding the surface and colour matching the original finish before professionally spraying the panels to blend seamlessly with the surrounding cladding.

The result is a clean, uniform finish without the cost and disruption of replacing complete panels.

Cosmetic repairs are a practical solution for residential developments, apartment blocks, commercial buildings and construction projects where maintaining the original appearance is important.

Wall Panel Repair – Before & After

Small fixing holes don't always mean replacing an entire wall panel.

For this project, we repaired multiple fixing holes on a decorative wall panel by carefully filling each one, recreating the original texture, colour matching the surrounding finish and hand painting the details to blend naturally with the existing pattern.

The goal is always the same: make the repair as discreet as possible while preserving the original appearance of the surface.

A cosmetic repair is often a faster, cleaner and more cost-effective alternative to replacing the whole panel.

Worktop Restoration – Before & After

This laminate kitchen worktop had become dull and heavily worn after years of daily use, with faded areas, surface scratches and patches where the original finish had broken down.

Instead of replacing the worktop, we restored it through a professional refinishing process.

The surface was thoroughly cleaned and degreased, sanded to remove the damaged finish, repaired where needed, colour matched to the original shade and professionally sprayed with a durable coating to bring back a smooth, even finish.

A cost-effective way to give your kitchen a fresh new look without the expense and disruption of a full replacement.

Thinking about replacing your worktops? A professional restoration could save you time and money.

Marble worktop crack repair – before and after

This marble worktop had developed a visible crack close to the sink and tap area, where moisture and daily use can make the damage more noticeable over time.

The area was carefully cleaned, prepared and protected before the crack was filled and stabilised using specialist repair materials. The colour, veining and surface details were then recreated by hand to blend the repair with the surrounding marble.

The aim of this type of cosmetic repair is to reduce the visibility of the damage and restore the appearance of the worktop without removing or replacing the marble section.

If your marble, granite or stone worktop has a chip or visible crack, send us a few photos for an assessment.
