In this Notting Hill apartment, the kitchen and dining space reflects belief that luxury and usability should never be competing ideas. The generous island provides the practical heart of the kitchen, but its scale also transforms it into a social one with a place for guests to gather.

The surrounding dining area extends that experience, allowing cooking, eating and entertaining to occupy one connected environment without sacrificing a sense of refinement.

In this bathroom, the generous walk-in shower, freestanding bath and beautifully detailed vanity each have their own presence, while remaining part of a calm and cohesive composition. Natural light from the large window above the bath changes the atmosphere throughout the day and reinforcing the sense of retreat.

The smallest touchpoint can carry the greatest design weight. Ironmongery is one of the few elements within an interior that is encountered physically every day. The weight of a handle, the temperature of the metal and the resistance of a mechanism all contribute to the way a room is experienced.

The contemporary kitchen is the centre of gravity within the home. It must support preparation, conversation, informal dining and family activity, often at the same time. Its design therefore needs to feel architecturally significant while remaining intuitive and comfortable in daily use. The perfect place to pull up a chair and enjoy a conversation or meal.

In a carefully designed kitchen, appliances do not have be treated as purely technical elements to conceal. When selected with the same attention given to stone, joinery and lighting, they can become a strong visual centre point.

Here, function and presence work together. The appliance supports the practical demands of daily family life while contributing to the wider composition of the kitchen. Its scale, finish and placement allow it to sit confidently within the room, proving that utility can also carry beauty, character and design value.

Rather than attempting to recreate the past, we introduced natural materials and textures, detailing to make the building relevant to modern life. The result is a home in which old and new remain deliberately legible: architectural heritage gives the interior its character, while contemporary design introduces the comfort. A historic building making the perfect modern home.
