Our Raynes Park project is taking shape. … my wonderful clients’ have fully embraced my garden design!! We have removed the lawn altogether and the new design involves a series of main paths and ‘goat paths’ as I have termed them, which lead you through the immersive planting.

There will be a large dining terrace, framed by a steel pergola, a central water bowl feature which not only bubbles for interest and ambience but will serve my clients as a cold water plunge pool ….and there will be a Grillo Outdoor Kitchen too!

We started with a blank canvas and I’m so excited to see this design be built! We are through the most destructive phase now, having dug up tonnes and tonnes of concrete and having dismantled the previous overbearing outdoor kitchen.

Watch this space for more updates and instalments to see this project come together over the next couple of months….

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of I got the opportunity to spend Saturday afternoon celebrating his wife, Sarah’s milestone birthday at in London Bridge.

The studio was inspiring and we were able to paint as a group of 9!

I chose to copy a photo of their Labrador, Molly, when she was puppy! I think Sarah liked it- I certainly enjoyed painting her! My first time properly have a go with Acrylics!

Happy birthday Sarah! The painting is my gift to you!

Thanks for the venue and looking after us all, Jana and your team at

The Gift of a Bench

May this bench be a place to gather and grow,
A circle of friendship where ideas can flow.
A spot to learn, to dream, to share,
To sit in the sunshine and breathe fresh air.

May nature’s beauty bring you delight —
Soft petals dancing, birds in flight.
The whisper of leaves, the warmth of the sun,
A quiet retreat when the school day is done.

May laughter and kindness bloom in this space,
A haven of peace, a comforting place.
With love, we gift it — our joy to extend,

A seat for each girl, a bench for a friend.

With love from the Class of 2025 ###

I would like share my sincere gratitude to all the Year 6 families for their generous contribution towards the gift of this bench to The Study Prep Wimbledon on behalf of their daughters.

We hope that the girls will enjoy learning English, Poetry, PHSE, Art and all sorts of usual classroom-based lessons outside in the fresh air, amongst the beautiful planting!

The arrival of this bench marks the completion of Phase 1 of the Spencer House front garden redesign which was first conceived in January 2023. We hope that it will encourage the rest of the parent community to enjoy the space long after our year 6 daughters have left the school and inspire them to fundraise to complete the final renovation of the front garden.

All of Year 6, Class of 2025 hope all The Study Prep school community have an opportunity to enjoy this new garden refuge now and in the future.

What a lovely visit to plant some Nerine bulbs (which will flower this November) in the garden I designed and created back in December.

The tulips are a riot of colour and I have chosen ones which are known to be perennial, so hopefully they’ll be back every year for years to come!

The garden was such a blank canvas before, and so I have created areas to sit, eat, grow vegetables and compost and lie out and relax on a small but well-proportioned lawn at the end. I gave lots of consideration to the view from the house. The property has magnificent floor to ceiling glass windows so I used the gravel area like a canvas to create a picture window for my clients. I can’t wait to see this area grow and flourish! Thanks goes to .uk for the build and planting, .plants for supplying the plants, for the Beaumont Limestoneand .warehouse for the Cotswold Limestone Chippings.

Next up!… our Cromwell Road Project is now in full swing! This is a south-facing garden which was overlooked from the railway. We have installed fencing, a soak away for the rain water from the ground floor extension and some electrical conduit to supply power to various points in the garden. It doesn’t look pretty but the very important ground works and clearance are complete and next week will be much more exciting with the laying of the limestone paving. Thanks to .uk for battling through the rain and wind and mud this week! They are such a jolly lot and my clients are so grateful for their professionalism and positive approach.

Another wimbledon garden in progress…. This time it is long and thin and has a large wooden double swing that my clients want to keep! I have created a design which portions the garden into different zones:

- retaining the existing raised terrace by the kitchen with steps down to the garden
- creating a stepping stone path with gravel planting around the swing
-lawn area big enough for splash pool on summer and a pop-up marquee
- a terrace at the far end of the garden outside my clients textile design studio where they can enjoy their firepit and have BBQs in the long summer evenings and catch the last rays of the sun.

Work has begun on our next garden design build in Wimbledon. I have worked the design around my clients’ double seated swing which was a challenge in this long, thin Wimbledon back garden. I can’t wait to show you how it develops! What challenging features have you had to work around in your designs?

A few before and after photos of our recently completed Wimbledon Project. It was a real pleasure to work with reputable suppliers and professional contractors on this for my lovely clients!

I used a strong, geometric, contemporary layout for this garden design as it complements the profile and proportions of the fantastic glass facade of the kitchen extension.

I have included a gravel garden which serves as both:

1) An immersive experience to walk through the Mediterranean drought tolerant planting

And

2) To provide a picturesque vista from the lounging area within the house

A simple path of stepping stones (Etched Beaumont Limestone from ) leads you through the garden to a dining terrace and on to a functional kitchen garden area to the rear with raised beds for fruit/vegetables. I have also included a small but well-proportioned lawn for lounging on hot summer days.

By dividing the space up into these areas, we have created a garden which draws our attention and in doing so the space is more interesting and seems larger that it did before.

I can’t wait to see this garden develop over the years and I’m really grateful to my clients for trusting my vision for their garden and bringing it to life!

Work is in full swing at our Wimbledon project near South Park Gardens. We have a blank canvas to start in this back garden! We are going to create a Mediterranean styled gravel garden to be viewed from their picture window, along with a dining terrace, and a working garden area at the rear with raised vegetable planters and soft area for a mixed clover and grass lawn. Thanks to my lovely clients for trusting me with this vision!
