I made this end-grain chopping board from reclaimed hardwood for a friend a while ago.

It measures approximately 620 × 365 × 50 mm, so it is a fairly substantial board. It has a juice groove around the top, recessed handles underneath to make it easier to lift, and non-slip feet.

The board was finished with food-safe mineral oil followed by beeswax, which really brought out the colour and grain of the timber.

I have included a couple of photos from the making process as well. It was quite a satisfying project and a nice change from my usual fitted furniture work.

A full run of bespoke fitted cabinets spanning the living room, including the alcoves, chimney breast and radiator area. The different cabinet depths make the most of the available space while keeping a continuous line across the front.

The radiator is concealed behind three open-backed cabinets, with ventilation built into both the top and plinth to allow heat to circulate. Adjustable shelving provides plenty of storage throughout, with custom 3D printed cable tidy grommets added where needed for cables and equipment.

Finished with shaker doors, simple metal k***s and spray painted in a dark blue chosen by the client.

Another project from earlier in the year. A bespoke TV cabinet with a removable shelf behind the TV to keep power extensions and cables hidden out of sight. The cabinet also features multiple 3D printed cable tidy grommets, making it easy to route cables neatly between the different sections. Two floating shelves above complete the alcove, creating a clean, modern focal point while providing plenty of display space. Everything was spray finished to match the existing wall colour, allowing the unit to blend seamlessly into the room.

A loft bedroom project completed earlier this year in Lee/Downham.

As is often the case with loft conversions, the sloping ceilings and awkward spaces meant that off-the-shelf furniture would have left a lot of wasted space. Everything here was made to measure to maximise storage while keeping the room feeling bright and uncluttered.

The wardrobes provide a combination of hanging space and adjustable shelving, while the low-level cabinets beneath the roof windows make use of space that would otherwise have been difficult to access.

Everything was spray finished in white and carefully scribed to the walls and ceiling for a seamless fit.

One of my favourite projects so far this year.

This bespoke media wall combines display shelving, integrated LED lighting, oak acoustic panels and a three-sided electric fireplace, creating a focal point that completely transforms the room.

A lot of the credit for this one belongs to the client. The overall design was very much her vision from the start and it was a pleasure working together to turn the idea into reality. The combination of the black base, deep green cabinetry and oak panels works beautifully and creates a striking feature without overwhelming the space.

I recently had a project which needed quite a bit of veneer work. I wanted to practice to ensure things ran smoothly, so I ordered some and used zebrano wood for the first time. It is now in my wife's possession.
