YES AI may have taken one of my drawings and rendered it to add colour and foilage, in the images you see, but AI had nothing to do with getting planning approval for this significant development proposed and approved to this house in leafy Amersham.

That was all me, with careful planning of balancing the interior layout, the lifestyle the client wanted and considering both the neighbours and what South bucks planning authority would think about this. We receievd planning approval first time for this which included, x2 double storey side extensions, a loft conversion with rear dormers, and a single storey rear extension, and cladding of the elevation to make the scheme look cohesive as we blended the old and new.

My clients are over the moon - and their lifestyle has changed dramatically since the build started - they now have the space to faciliate all the fun their personalities require!

DM me to start your build conversation.

Livewell Architecture won Hillingdon Construction & Property Business of the Year 2026.
I had nothing prepared, no notes, not even a rough idea of what I'd say if I won, but when the microphone was presented to me, I even surpised myself.

So what was I saying up there, with every key Hillingdon stakeholder in the room? Let's just say I made the most of my opportunities.

Guesses in the comments, the answer's waiting there.

And if you don't know me already, I'm Cecilia, a Ruislip based architect who designs homes around the life you actually want to live. I work with families whose homes no longer fit them, taking them from that first idea through to the finished build, and turning a house that holds you back into one that lifts your day to day. Your home could be the next project on my drawing board, one DM away.

Most homeowners start with a builder quote or ideas of what is possible based on what others have done. This is where the first mistake is made.

Before you speak with anyone, get a quote or let your well meaning friend plant ideas about what you should do, seek a clear understanding of the challenges you are seeking to solve with the building work.

That's exactly what the Livewell Home Transformation Strategy Session is designed to do. We discuss your specific needs with site specific opportunities and constraints.

Comment 'STRATEGY' and I'll send you a free guide plus full details of the session, how it works and what we cover.

No obligations. Just clarity.

This one is personal to me.

My client came to me having already spent money on a set of drawings. The scheme she received was, in essence, exactly what she had described to the architect herself. No ideas brought to the table. No guidance on how to make the house feel special. When she asked for help with the aesthetics, she was told to go and Google what she liked.

She came to me at a crossroads. She had already made one costly decision and wasn't sure she could justify starting again. But she also knew, deep down, that she couldn't get to the home she really wanted without someone who would actually lead the process.

So that is what we did.

Her job was to tell me what she loved about the house, what was missing, and what she dreamed of having. My job was to take those pieces and design something that actually worked for her life.

I gave her three extension options, each one different in scope, cost and impact on how she'd live day to day. For the first time in this project, she could see real choices laid out in front of her and make a decision with confidence rather than guesswork.

We also rearranged the entire ground floor. Every room re-thought. This was never going to be an extension bolted onto an existing layout that didn't work. It needed to be designed from the inside out.

Then came the exterior. Rather than leaving her to find her own inspiration, we explored together. We reviewed dark brick samples against her existing brickwork until we landed on the right combination. She fell in love with it immediately.

Now - Planning was approved this week without a single query.
She is genuinely excited about what is coming and so am I.

If you are sitting with drawings that don't excite you, or feeling like you are the one leading a process that should be led for you, DM or comment 'help' and I will reach out to you.

This is the part of the job people don't see.

Before any work starts, I go through every detail of a project until I'm confident there's nothing left for problems to slip through later.

Gianni's team have built several of my projects now, and what he said about working with Livewell Architecture really struck me, because it's exactly what I'm trying to do. A drawing isn't just a diagram or a few lines. The better the drawings are, the better the instructions are for a builder, and that's the difference between a smooth build and a stressful one.

When the drawings are right, the builders can focus on building well instead of solving problems that should never have needed solving. That's the standard I hold myself to on every project, and it's the reason I started Livewell Architecture.

Planning approval landed this week for our project in Great Missenden, and I'm super excited for this one.

My client arrived with a full set of drawings from another architect, but she felt unsupported, like she was the one leading the process.

Together we started again and worked through her choices. I presented three different ways to extend her home, each one meeting her brief in a unique way and changing how she'd actually live day to day. The whole ground floor was rearranged, every room moved and rethought. This wasn't just an extension stuck onto what was already there.

With her previous architect, little guidance was given on what might actually make the exterior special. Working together, she found the confidence to go far bolder than she'd expected, and we landed on a dark brick for the rear.

Most people shy away from bold choices like this, but after reviewing the CGIs and holding samples against her existing brickwork, she knew it was exactly right.

And the planners? No issue at all. A strong design report meant this one went through without a single query.

Congratulations to my client. I can't wait to watch this one come to life.

Most people think elevations are just cosmetic, a bit of paint and a new front door. But kerb appeal isn't just about what your house looks like to passers-by, it's about how you feel every time you pull up outside it, and the quiet pride of watching someone you care about arrive at a house that actually feels like you.

This client knew his house needed something. He just didn't know what. So rather than push him toward one answer, we mapped out the range across five directions, all rooted in his existing palette of red brick, light render and black accents, each one pulling those elements into a different kind of confidence.

He's still deciding, and we aren't yet done designing. That's the point. The decision should feel right, not just look right on a screen.

This Friday I'll be at Arc in Uxbridge — and I'm offering something I've never done publicly before. Your 15-Minute Livewell Assessment.

Bring your floor plan and photos of your home.
In 15 minutes I'll show you the 5 things standing between you and the home you actually want — the layout problems creating your daily frustrations, the hidden potential in your space, and a realistic picture of what's possible, what it costs, and what a timeline looks like.

Most homeowners have been living with the same frustrations for years. Not because the problems can't be solved, but because nobody has ever sat down with them and said: here is exactly what is holding your home back.
That's what this is.

It's free. It's 15 minutes. And it might be the most useful conversation you've had about your home.

Slots are limited, I can only see a handful of people on the day.

Comment FRIDAY below and I'll message you directly to confirm your slot. See you at Arc.
