Demand switch installation and consumer unit upgrade.

Reduce your electric field exposure with a demand switch installation.

Have a Demand switch installed. The Demand switch can be used to minimise the electric fields from circuits which are not actually supplying power. A Demand Switch is an electronically controlled mechanical circuit breaker (MCB) that replaces the 230 volts AC with a low or a DC voltage that is then used to sense when a switch is closed, when the 230 volts AC is automatically re-connected to the circuit. These can be fitted in consumer units and wired in series with the circuit-breaker or fuse. It can switch 16 amps and be used for lights (one or two circuits protected at 6A, or one at 10A and one at 6A) or radial power circuits (with a 16A MCB in series, one Demand Switch for each circuit). We do not know of a 30A one suitable for UK ring final circuits, but we would anyway always recommend splitting every ring final circuit into two radial circuits. They will each also need to be protected against overload using 16A MCBs. It is usually necessary to install another consumer unit next to the existing one to take the demand switches. It is often easiest to have all the Demand Switches in the new consumer unit and keep the MCBs and RCDs in the existing one. The demand switches are fitted after the MCBs before the cables go off to the lights or to the power sockets. Demand switches do not offer overload

Another EMF survey today in Brentwood UK. Customer had his own infrared sauna which was advertised as low in EMFs. I thought I would take some reading for myself and reassure the customer his EMF exposure is low.

While sitting on the bench in the sauna I measured 4v/m in electric fields and 0.04μT in magnetic fields.
As saunas go this is very low in EMFs, the make is Clearlight. Infrared sauna’s are great for detoxing, the heat penetrates more deeply than warmed air. This allows you to experience a more intense sweat at a lower temperature.

Customer had high dirty electricity. Carried out a survey and decided to install In-Line filters in his consumer unit. This to helped reduce the dirty electricity inside the customers house. We also installed Demand switches on the same installation to reduce the electric fields.

Suffering from electrical sensitivity the customer reports back he already feels much better 😁. He is able to stay his home now and sleep through the night.
