Scadoxus multifloris “Orange Wonder”, the powderpuff Lily 💥🍃💥🍃💥🍃

I planted this bulb four weeks ago, within a few days a new shoot appeared and quickly with a little water, within three and a half weeks, this wondrous riot of orange and yellow petals, a powderpuff Lily blossomed 🤗

They are easy to grow, need very little water or care, just a bright, not too sunny windowsill, or can be grown outside in the summer. Keep to the shadier parts of the garden.

Great fun to grow, unusual and full of personality. Available for purchase now from Dutch nurseries, most UK stockists have sold out at the moment.

I planted this one in John Innis No 2 compost, make sure they do not sit in water. Happy planting! 💥 🍃

Rosa Warm Welcome is a dazzling delicate compact climber with a deep orange-vermillion flower and yellow centre.

Ideal for planting on a sunny or light wall and can be grown in pots with free draining, top soil with well rotten manure compost. Feed regularly and you will be rewarded with a summer of continuous glowing illuminating, delicately fragrance flowers.

A favourite with bees and butterflies.

It is available from most garden centres although it is worth checking in advance to see if they are in stock.

Reaches heights of 180cm with a spread of 90cm-100cm.

Setting out this week and the installation of corten steel edging to new planting beds.
It is difficult to appreciate, just how waterlogged this garden gets during the winter months.
The scorched turf made it difficult to dig through to remove the turf. We have had to install land drains to allow standing water in thick clay soil during the winter months to flow to the hydrangea and cornus beds.
The planting plan has to accommodate sever drought in summer and water logging in autumn. A clear sign our climate is not what it was. Will post plating list later in the year.
Stage One earlier this year, planting the raised beds with Rosa Kent Polcov has been a great success.
Stage Three begins when the rain begins to fall,hopefully in September, October.

Garden ornaments add a touch of splendour to small gardens. There is an old saying, if you want to make a small garden feel bigger put a large ornament in it. We are enjoying Big Urn as he settles in at home. He is planted up with pink cosmos, dark blue trailing lobelia, pink and purple striped petunias, mesembryanthemums and gazanias, all are enjoying this hot weather, time for an evening drink!🚿 🍸 xx

I am seeking advise from designers, contractors, landscape architects, garden w**d control companies on your experience on treating horsetail on site. We have a garden project where there is a considerable infestation of horsetail approximately 15mx7m. I would be very grateful for any experience you can give as to how to eradicate horsetail, how long it took to irradiate it and the lessons learnt. Thank you for any advise you can offer 🍃🍃🍃
