Choosing the right UFH system isn’t just about the floor construction.

Your property’s heat loss is just as important.

Different floor systems offer different outputs depending on pipe spacing, floor build-up, floor finish and operating temperature. A system that works perfectly in one property may not deliver the same performance in another.

You should always consider this, especially when heating a property with an open loop system. This is crucial with all heat pump-based systems.

At Core UFH, we look at the whole floor build-up and the heat loss of each room before recommending a system.

✔️ Floor construction
✔️ Room-by-room heat loss
✔️ Required heat output
✔️ Pipe spacing
✔️ Floor finish
✔️ Flow & return temperatures

The result? A UFH system designed around the property and not simply fitted to it.

The right system starts with the right design.

Underfloor heating solutions for suspended timber and joisted floors.

Core UFH can design and supply a range of systems depending on the floor construction, available build-up and required heat output.

This post shows two common options:

An aluminium plate system is installed between the timber joists to transfer heat to the floor above.

Foiled grooved chipboard system, a structural routed deck installed over the joists, combining the floor deck and UFH pipe-retention system.
