Facing a constant battle with using this lovely ash that has been barn stored and bringing it into a heated environment. Shrinking, bowing and cupping. Working with it is the biggest challenge, and then kinda letting it do its thing is adding to the character and charm of the natural environment of the treehouse. It's a strain on my brain though, being a perfectionist 😊 mirrored sliding door to the shower room and toilet. Design credentials go to Charlotte, Lindsay and Jackie. Myself for making it functional.

There's some ash boards going on the wall. The clients had this timber all milled on their own land from their woods. It's nice to be doing some finish carpentry on the inside now 😊 made a nice little flattening sledge too for the bigger slabs 👍🏻

This one's really been a slog the last month or so to be honest. Very wet working conditions, trying to get the outside finished so the scaffolding can come down. Very nearly there now, little more cladding to do. It's scorched larch this time. The boards have been blow torched before going on. ☺️

Don't know if it's a good or bad thing, but I sorted myself out with a couple of dry spaces to put my tools while I'm working in this damn horrible weather. It meant I could carry on today even though it didn't stop raining all day really. Hoping for a dry day tomorrow at least. Can't wait to get the outside of this second treehouse done.😊

No let up today 🌧️ waterproof on all day and crack on. Had to pack it in a 4pm though, my god there's some water coming ...

By no means perfect, which I find hard to accept, but I'm getting better. I only seem to get these fairly complex shapes...

By no means perfect, which I find hard to accept, but I'm getting better. I only seem to get these fairly complex shapes to practice my lead welding on.....don't really get much time to just practice for practice sake. I use a very cheap set up that is very hard to get a consistent flame on, I'd love to be able to warrant buying something decent, but I'm not at that stage yet. I think I can get better with what I've got first.
The little box at the top of the gutter is probably my best and most controlled bit of welding so far. 😊
