Hoddam Contracting Hoddam Contracting Co. Ltd operate of two sand and gravel quarries, also our hard rock quarry in South of Scotland. Broom Quarry - sand and gravel.

Block manufacturer and provider of ready mixed concrete, paving slabs and kerbs. Ltd operate two sand and gravel quarries in South of Scotland. Our head office is at Ecclefechan where we manufacture ready-mixed concrete, concrete blocks and all of the other concrete products on offer. Kilblane Quarry is based at Locharbriggs, on the outskirts of Dumfries. Kilblane Quarry was granted a licence in 1948 - with sand and gravel extracted to this day. Also manufactured at Kilblane is ready-mixed concrete. Broom Quarry is a sand and gravel operation located near Powfoot, Annan and was purchased by the company in the 1990s. Ecclefechan - ready-mixed concrete and concrete blocks. Kilblane Quarry - sand, gravel and ready-mixed concrete.

❗️ PLANT CLOSURE - ECCLEFECHAN ONLY❗️

Our Ecclefechan ready mixed concrete plant will be closed on the following:

⭐️ FRIDAY 25th SEPTEMBER

⭐️ SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER

This is due to routine maintenance on the plant, our Kilblane site will be open as normal with Ecclefechan up and running all being well Monday 28th September 🤞

Due to this closure we will have NO uplift or delivery available for ready mixed concrete.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Long service recognition… ⭐️

25 years ago George Graham walked through the gates at Ecclefechan for the first time as a general operative. 🏭

George now heads up the ready-mixed concrete department.

We would be lost without him. Here’s to the next 25 years!! 🥹

‼️ PLANT CLOSURE NOTICE ‼️

Due to routine maintenance, NO READY MIX UPLIFTS will be available at KILBLANE on FRIDAY 28TH & SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST.

Ecclefechan remains operational as normal on Friday, but also CLOSED SATURDAY 29TH AUGUST.

Normal working hours at both plants will resume on Monday 31st August.

Job vacancy for HGV - Class 2 Ready Mixed Concrete truck driver.

📍 Based at Kilblane Quarry, Locharbriggs, Dumfries

We are looking for a HGV (class 2) driver to join our team delivering Ready Mixed Concrete. Experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

Over for another year!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and said hello to us, it’s been a tremendous day start to finish.
Big thank you to all our team who put in such a great effort to make this day happen and big thanks to both our driver Ed and Rab who got those trucks looking smashing, cheers boys! ✨✨✨
(I was too busy yapping that I forgot to get photos with everyone on the stand) 🙄
Now time for sleep and start again on Monday!
