Thank you to the team at justseedltd for getting this grazing rye to me so quickly! Can’t wait to sow it and cover the bare soil we have here at Small Acre Wales ready for winter

This is the propagation area for our Verbena off. ‘Bampton’. I know it doesn’t look much but we bought three plants a few years ago and every year they self-seed into the slate path. Every couple of months we go verbena scrumping and pot them up

The Geums have been amazing this year! Definitely a keeper!
We are going to move them shortly (after flowering) into the mother beds in order to create a herb garden in the raised beds. This is where we will grow herbs and medicinal plants to use in our ‘home-grown’ products like teas and bath bombs. Watch this space !

What a lovely day strolling around Horatio’s Garden - Stanmore, London with the head gardener (designed by Tom Stuart Smith). Fantastically lush, woodland planting wrapped around the National Orthopaedic Unit, creating a quiet space for reflection, wellbeing and recovery! It was only marred by the 6hr delayed diverted train journey home 🙁

The acer/fern area is looking better this year than the last. I remembered to feed the acer at the right time!! It’s almost like they need to be fed!?

It’s a good job it isn’t ‘smell-o-vision’ as the second photo is of the sea as fillets frying outside so they don’t stink the kitchen out for days on end.

A morning stroll down ‘the avenue’ at Horatio’s Garden Midlands. Lovely!!
