Everything I make used to be something else. Where others see junk I see hope.

Second Chances are important. I take broken furniture and salvaged materials and see what I can draw out of it.

Rarely have a plan. Sketch, cut, sand and burn.

To most people, this was just a pile of discarded wood headed for the skip. To me? It was the raw ingredients for something entirely new.

There’s a specific kind of satisfaction in taking "waste" and turning it into a functional piece of furniture. No kits, no pre-cut instructions, just an idea and a dive-in approach to see what happens.

You're supposed to share right? Well here I am clunky McKlunk Face sharing my drawings and wooden creations.

You want a simple way to bring something handmade and meaningful into a room without adding more clutter to the world?

I use wood that was headed for the landfill, broken furniture or architectural offcuts.

I turn it into something solid and useful. I carve into the grain to give these rescued materials a bit of character while they're being put back to work.

My goal is to give these materials a proper second chance so they can sit in a home and do a job again, rather than just being wasted.

Sketching at a bus stop isn't just killing time. For me it’s gathering ideas for future work.

Will this be a tray? A bookend?

It turns the frustration of a delayed flight (there was a lot) into a quiet, mindful thing to do.

The linocut style patterns I carve into reclaimed timber often start as scribbles in a quiet moment.

In a world of constant scrolling, a simple pen and paper sketch breaks the cycle (I find it even works on my tablet).

Next time you’re waiting, ditch the phone and see what shapes and doodles are hiding in plain sight.

Even if you weren't born within the town walls of Conwy you can still channel your inner Jackdaw.

Reclaimed Materials even the packaging is recycled cardboard.

At my last craft fair people often asked "it's beautiful but what do I do with it?"

Its for showing off your.... Cheese board / Make up mirror/ Cakes / favourite plants / flowers...

All reclaimed Materials. This wood was hard won. I save furniture from landfill and so can you.

There are are a million things it could do but all of them are simply making the thing on it look special.

My drawings always come out sad!

I built a super simple printing press from an old desk and a car jack.

Who has too much space? Not me! So I hide it in a cupboard and slide it out when needed.

Last weekend I was at the fabulous Vintage Flea and artisan market with

was my aisle mate and the fab Linocut printed badges, bags and cards got me inspired to get back into it!

Coffee pot? Tea set? Salt & Pepper? Perfume stand? Candles?

What would you use this to show off?

I have no more of this reclaimed tropical hardwood. When its gone its gone! Beautiful rich red grain. Architectural salvage.

What

Seriously I cannot get out the door with everything I need for my day.

Surely I'm not the only one. I'm working on these HabitHacks, little wooden magnets to remind you to do stuff.

Stick them to something you never forget like coffee first thing in the morning then it reminds you to go get your... and put it in a bag or on your keys.
