As we have been warned there may be snow and ice our way, here are a few tips to keep your central heating working 😀
✅ Bleed your radiators.
Bleeding your radiators ensures the whole radiator is getting hot, warming the room up quicker and more efficiently.
Once you have done this check your boilers pressure.
If you aren't sure how to top up the pressure, don't bleed the radiators, as it could leave you in a worse position 😅
✅ Check your boiler pressure.
This should be sat between 1 & 1.5 bar when the system is cold. (Some boiler's don't require topping up)
✅ Check your batteries.
Some room thermostats take batteries to operate. If the display is showing a small battery symbol, change them.
✅ Condensate pipework.
If the snow and ice stays for a couple of days, our Condensate pipework may start to block with ice. If your boiler has a fault and is making bubbling noises, the chances are this pipe may be frozen. Get it warmed up with warm water.
Some condense pipework runs internally and won't freeze.
❎ Don't pour it on the small copper pipe, that's not the condense pipe 😅
❎ Please do not use boiling water, don't burn yourself!
✅ If you can't Identify you filling loop/link or condense pipework, send me a WhatsApp with a 📸 of your boiler and I will do my best to help you, as soon I can.
