Today’s job at Shokupan Café an independent café that opened in Aigburth, Liverpool in May 2026.

They serve delicious sandos made with their in-house baked shokupan (Japanese milk loaf) and a small selection of house bakes. Alongside this, we have speciality coffee, matcha, and loose leaf teas.

They’re a small team that’s passionate about creating amazing food and a friendly community vibe. Our café is a place to slow down, enjoy some quality food and drinks, and connect with each other.

If you’re a fan of illustrated novels, you’ll love their cosy reading corner with a library and a big comfy chair; it’s the perfect spot to read a book whilst you sip your coffee.

WILD FIRE ALERT‼️

With all these fires let’s talk Smoke Alarms 🚨

This is something that I’ve mentioned before however it’s becoming a common theme now on my travels and it seems fired are becoming TOO common 🚐💨

If you have smoke Alarms then there are a few ways you can ensure they are working or working at their maximum capacity to keep you and your loved ones safe 🙏🏼

1. Have you pressed the test button, obvious but when do you last check really??
2. If hard wired into the mains supply is there a green power light illuminated?
3. Have you check the replace by date? Yes they EXPIRE every 10 years is the recommended replacement date.
4. If I’m working in your home and you’re unsure ask me to check them FOR FREE - happy to help!

1. Smoke Alarms, are yours over 10 years old (they expire) check the date on the side, get them replaced 🕘

2. Charging EV cars from a standard 3 pin plug? STOP!!! you can have a dedicated EV 3 pin charger installed including RCBO protection ✅

My Favourite Local Trusted Trades — UPDATED!

A little while ago, I put together my list of Favourite Local Trusted Trades after constantly being asked for recommendations, seeing some shocking workmanship, and hearing from customers who had unfortunately been let down by tradespeople.

The response was brilliant — so I’ve expanded the list!

I’ve now added even more trusted local professionals covering appliance repair, CCTV & alarms, electrical, garden & tree work, gas, joinery, painting & decorating, pest control, plastering, plumbing, tiling and websites.

These aren’t just random numbers I’ve pulled from the internet. They’re people I trust and would be happy recommending to friends, family, customers and anyone who asks me for a reliable trade. Some I’ve used personally, some I’ve worked alongside, some whose work I’ve seen, and others who come highly recommended by people I trust.

The idea is simple: help good tradespeople get good work, and help customers avoid the cowboys. 🛠️

So before you let someone into your home, do your due diligence, check reviews, ask questions and get recommendations.

Every day I’m asked for recommendations for reliable local trades. Just as often, I hear stories of poor workmanship, unfinished jobs, or people being ripped off by rogue traders.

The businesses featured on this poster are people I’d genuinely recommend. They’re on here because I’ve either used them myself, worked alongside them, seen the quality of their work firsthand, or they’ve been consistently recommended by customers I trust.

Choosing the right tradesperson is one of the most important decisions you can make. Don’t let the cowboys through your front door. Always do your due diligence—check reviews, read testimonials, ask to see previous work, and don’t be afraid to ask questions before committing.

We all work hard for our money, and with the cost of living still affecting everyone, the last thing anyone needs is to pay twice because someone has taken advantage.

Hopefully this list helps take some of the guesswork out of finding someone you can trust.
