Just one of the many things our highly skilled electronics department is working on at the moment.

This bus propulsion control system is currently in for diagnostic testing and repair, helping keep critical public transport equipment operational without the need for costly full replacement.

Modern transport systems rely heavily on complex electronics, and when faults occur, accurate diagnostics and specialist repair expertise make all the difference.

Using powerful diagnostic equipment like ABi BoardMaster and our in-depth electronic repair capability, our team can identify faults at component level and restore systems that may no longer be supported by manufacturers.

It’s another example of how specialist repair work can extend equipment life, reduce costs, and minimise downtime.

A project our Servo Motor Technician has been working on involved bringing this heavily damaged HPB servo motor back to life.

The motor came in with a broken terminal box, which had damaged both the thermistor and phase wires, a feedback connector in poor condition, and a seized drive end bearing.

With the right expertise, repair work, and attention to detail, the motor was fully restored and returned in a much healthier condition.

Precise realignment was also greatly supported using Octava Engineering technology, helping ensure smooth operation and reliable performance once back in service.

It’s another example of how specialist diagnostics and quality repair work can extend equipment life and avoid unnecessary replacement costs.

When a servo motor starts to fail, it’s easy to assume replacement is the only option.

This Rexroth MSK servo motor came in needing some serious TLC. Worn bearings and a damaged feedback connector meant performance and reliability were well below where they should have been.

Using advanced diagnostic technology from Octava and Origin, our servo motor technician was able to accurately assess the condition of the motor, identify the faults, and carry out the repair work needed to bring it back to life.

Now it’s running smoothly again and is ready to return to operation.

It’s a good reminder that not every servo motor failure means replacement. With the right testing equipment, expertise, and repair process, many motors can be restored to full performance while saving significant cost and downtime.

What happens when critical equipment fails… and the manufacturer no longer supports it?

For many businesses, that’s where costs rise, and options become limited.

That’s where our ABI system makes a real difference.

It allows us to detect faults in complex electronic systems and PCBs, giving you the ability to test and repair equipment that would otherwise be considered obsolete.

From inverters to propulsion systems and bus motor drives, we can help extend the life of your equipment and avoid unnecessary replacement costs.

If you’re dealing with unsupported systems, it’s worth knowing you still have options.

Unplanned downtime doesn’t just disrupt production, it hits your margins, your deadlines, and your team.

But it isn’t something you just have to accept.

With the right approach, you can move away from reactive firefighting and start building a more reliable, efficient operation.

Our free guide breaks down how to do exactly that.

Inside, you’ll learn how to:

Build a maintenance culture that prevents failures before they happen.

Use predictive and condition-based monitoring effectively
Improve efficiency, quality, and long-term asset reliability

If you’re under pressure to keep production running smoothly while controlling costs, this is a practical place to start.

Excessive vibration in rotating equipment isn’t just noise; it’s a sign that something’s wrong.

Dynamic balancing is the process of identifying and correcting imbalance by rotating components at speed and making precise adjustments to minimise vibration.

The result? Smoother operation, reduced wear, and improved reliability.

Swipe through to see why dynamic balancing should be part of your maintenance strategy➡️

Energy costs aren’t going down anytime soon, so the question is, where can you actually make meaningful savings?

For many industrial sites, up to two-thirds of energy usage comes from electrical motors. Yet when businesses look at reducing costs, motors are often overlooked.

The reality is a motor can use up to 100 times its purchase cost in electricity over its lifetime.

That means even small efficiency improvements can deliver significant long-term savings.

By optimising motor and inverter performance, or switching to energy efficient alternatives, you can:

Reduce ongoing energy costs
Improve overall system efficiency
Lower your site’s environmental impact

The first step is understanding where the opportunities are.

That’s why we offer a free energy audit, helping you identify where savings can be made and how to implement them effectively.

If you’re under pressure to reduce energy spend, it’s a practical place to start. Learn more: https://www.rjweng.com/engineer/energy-saving-solutions/

If you’re responsible for keeping plant equipment running, you’ll know how difficult it can be to spot issues before they turn into failures.

That’s where motion amplification technology is making a real difference.

Used across industries like manufacturing, energy, and food processing, it amplifies movement in motors, pumps, and rotating equipment that would otherwise go unnoticed.

That means you can:
- Identify faults earlier
- Reduce unplanned downtime
- Improve overall equipment reliability

Instead of relying on guesswork, you get a clear view of what’s actually happening to your machinery and systems.

For many sites, that level of insight is quickly becoming essential.

When a critical alternator goes down, you don’t have time to wait.

This 1000 kVA Caterpillar alternator exciter stator was fully rewound by our professional team of armature winders, and it’s a great example of the precision and turnaround that keeps production moving.

For most sites, a failure like this isn’t just a repair job. It’s lost output, pressure on teams, and the risk of extended downtime if it’s not handled properly.

What makes the difference is having the right expertise in-house.

From careful coil removal to precision rewinding and insulation, every stage has to be done properly to ensure performance, reliability, and longevity once it’s back in operation.

It also highlights something important. Skilled engineers are still one of the most valuable assets in this industry. Bringing in experienced winders means faster turnaround, better quality control, and more confidence when it matters most.

If you’re dealing with alternator or motor issues and need a reliable repair partner, it’s worth having that conversation before the next failure happens.
