Two Spaces. One Project.

This Ireland project brought something a bit different, delivering both an indoor and outdoor pitch as part of the same installation.

Two environments with very different demands, but the same expectation when it comes to finish and usability. One built for controlled, all-year access. The other exposed to the elements and constant use.

Seeing both spaces side by side shows how adaptable modern sports surfaces have become, giving players consistent footing and a reliable surface whatever the setting.

We recently had the pleasure of attending a ‘Meet the Professionals’ day at Everton Free School, where our Managing Director, Lewis Nickson, and Client Relationship Manager, Tom Stone, spent time speaking with students in small group discussions throughout the day.

The format made for a really engaging and relaxed experience, giving us the opportunity to have honest, down-to-earth conversations about the journey into the industry, the growth of Poly UP, what what life was like growing up.

Rather than focusing purely on careers, the discussions were centred around real-life experiences: how different paths can lead to unexpected opportunities, the challenges we’ve faced along the way, and what it actually takes to build and grow a business.

Events like this are incredibly important because they help break down assumptions about the working world and show young people that there’s no single route to success.

A big thank you to Everton Free School for having us. It was a brilliant day and a great opportunity to play a small part in helping students think about their futures.

We were delighted to have our Managing Director, Lewis Nickson, and Client Relationship Manager, Tom Stone, attend Career Discovery Day at The City of Liverpool College.

The event gave us a great opportunity to speak directly with students about real-life career journeys; from first steps into the industry to the realities of growing a business. It was fantastic to see so many engaged students asking thoughtful questions and showing genuine interest in their future paths.

Rather than just talking at students, days like this are about open conversations, sharing honest experiences, lessons learned, and helping young people understand that there are many different routes to success.

Dual-Sport Pitch | Glasgow

7,000m² dual-sport pitch completed in Glasgow, designed to support both football and hockey on a single, high-performance surface.

Combining FA-regulated football markings with contrasting hockey lines, this installation delivers a practical, multi-use solution without compromising on quality or playability.

Key elements of the project:
✔ Large-scale 7,000m² surface installation
✔ Integrated dual-sport line marking for football and hockey
✔ Built to perform in all conditions
✔ Delivered and signed off to required standards

⚽ Multi-Use Games Area

A look back at a previously completed Multi-Use Games Area, designed to create a versatile space for sport, activity and everyday use.

This installation combined performance and durability, delivering a surface that can handle a wide range of activities while remaining safe and consistent underfoot.

Project features included:
✔ 300m² sand-dressed surface
✔ 10mm shockpad for added comfort and impact absorption
✔ Reinforced goal mouth areas for high-wear zones
✔ Ramped rubber edging for a smooth, accessible finish
✔ Silica sand infill to support stability and playability
✔ Integrated drainage solution to improve water management
✔ Installation of action target goals

The end result is a robust, all-weather sports space suitable for everything from football and basketball to general recreational use.

A strong example of how well-designed MUGA installations can maximise space and create long-lasting community assets.
