This week I had the absolute pleasure of meeting and interviewing the amazing fashion icon Patrick Grant - finally, someone who can talk more than me!

As we all know, fashion and how we dress and present ourselves plays such an important role in the influence of interiors, how we live and how we curate our personal spaces. So what better way to marry these two worlds than to hear from someone like Patrick at one of the UK’s best interior trade shows.

And just like that…

We say goodbye to Design Central 2026!
After months and months of hard work and preparation to create this amazing show, it’s all done and packed away!

The incredible teams of all of the exhibitors work tirelessly to prepare everything in what feels like an overnight transformation. In just 3 days the marquee is built and packed full of incredible products and displays, and in literally just 2 hours, everything is done and gone once the last guest leaves!

The feedback is that this year has been the best ever, with such amazing brands and products, and an incredible buzz - this was an event to remember.

We can’t wait to share more of the behind the scenes adventures that made Design Central what it is, so stay tuned for more!!

What a show!!!

A look at day 2 of Design Central’s talk space for 2026. A line up worthy of a 10 year anniversary!

We had the privilege of welcoming guests such as Patrick Grant, Natasha Marshall, The Integrated Home and a great discussion some of our fantastic exhibitors, Geddes Hardwood, Bridgman Furniture and Warwick Fabrics.

Day 2 was all about The Future of Design, and we can say with confidence that the future looks bright! Literally and metaphorically! With a clear shift in the industry towards craftsmanship, durability, individuality and innovation, we are seeing demand for more traditional and bespoke pieces that are created here in the UK, by smaller, independent creators and makers - that look great and are built to last!

Design Central is at the forefront of this movement, advocating for quality, connection and collaboration!

People buy from people.

When you are confident in what you sell but now ‘how’ you sell, it can be a difficult to put yourself forward and connect with the right people in the right way.

We don’t just suggest that you use it, we show you how to be your authentic self, and create a message that resonates with the right audience that will value what you do and be willing to pay for it!

“It’s about who we are, what we represent through our work. It’s very very easy to lose yourself in the process of looking for a job.”

As designers we are often told to follow a specific career path. But we are creatives. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work for us, especially when what we do is specific, unique and bespoke.

It’s this way of thinking that causes people to lose themselves and feel lost. By understanding why you are truly different and why what you have to offer is unique, you can build a career, a business, or lifestyle that works for you!

Why shouldn’t you get to do what you love and what you’re passionate about!?
