Inspired by the original upper cabinetry, the band of switches - brushed stainless steel, true to the period - controls the Quooker, the hob, the dimmable lights. A socket at the end. Phone charging, quietly resolved.

It's one of the defining details of the Mid-Century Classic. Not a flourish. A piece of architecture.

The Dulwich Classic.

A 1960s modernist home in leafy Dulwich. Clear architectural language. Beautiful light. The kitchen just hadn't caught up yet.

We lowered the cabinetry to waist height. Maximised the peninsula on dowel legs. Relocated the hob beneath bespoke light boxes framed in cherry.

Every decision made to let the architecture breathe.

Cherry with an undulating grain. White and grey terrazzo flecked with gold marble. A plinth-and-leg detail that keeps the composition open without compromise.

Not decorated. Designed.
