⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Full render project completed.

This period semi-detached property required a full render to the rear and gable end, along with DPC works and associated roof works.

Access was extremely restricted, making this a challenging project, but clear communication throughout helped keep the customer fully updated.

The finished Cote D’Opale light blue render looks excellent, and we’re pleased the customer is so happy with the final result.

Weather Loops.

What are they?

They are an industry standard when installing cables to the external side of a property.
The loop enables rainwater to drip off before the cable enters the property.
Without them, rainwater will run into the property, causing damp.

Check your rainwater system! This down-pipe expelling onto the ground close to the house has caused damp internally on several walls.

If this isn't moved away from the property, and the inside not addressed, it will soon lead to an expensive outbreak of dry rot!

A simple low cost fix can save £1000's in remedial work. Don't ignore the small repairs.

Dry Rot St Helens

Cause: Leaking window, blocked sub-floor ventilation, insulation between joists restricting any airflow = DRY ROT CONTAMINATION

A very busy past week with an intensive Dry Rot treatment, where we only had a very limited time to turn the room back to normal.

A few weeks earlier, we were greeted with an inspection hole in the floor, where 2yr old floor joists had rotted.
Further inspection showed the red dry rot spores had spread right across the sub-floor and rot strands had spread up and between the brick joints to the ceiling!
All 3 window lintels were rotten and required replacing too.

Method - Strip back the room, clear debris, remove all visible evidence of dry rot then full biocidal treatment to sub-floor, brick surfaces, mortar joints with several applications over a period of several days.

Luckily we managed to save the ceiling joists and include them as part of the intensive biocidal treatment.

The team really put their effort into this to turn it round in a week! Between 4-6 damp techs there each day, 4 plasterers, then 2 joiners working till late each night.
