Ok so I made quite a big mistake. Hear me out, I built a raised OSB base to place a metal shed on that I’ll be using as a wood store.

I purposefully built it oversized thinking for whatever reason that would be a good idea (at the time).

What a STUPID idea that was 😂.

Once made and the metal shed screwed onto it, in typical north west fashion it started pi***ng it down. And of course the water came off the drip edge of the pitched roof landing on the OSB base and rolling right under the base of the shed into the inside of the shed forming quite a substantial swimming pool, not ideal.

So today is part one of rectifying this situation. Firstly cutting the OSB base right back so there is approximately 5mm extra around the outside edges, well inside the drip edge. I did this using my cordless TSC 55 track saw and mk3 rail square.

I then bought some Blue Dolphin Exterior Grade Rough Surface Tape to join the metal lip to the OSB, also help to seal the OSB edges.

Part 2 will be to get some small guttering solution for the shed to further assist the water run off.

What do you think about part 1? Is it a sensible solution?

I forgot to mention I didn’t want to fix the shed to the base with the likes of CT1 because from time to time I’ll need to move the shed👍

Thank You and Thank You China!

Back home now after such an incredible experience visiting the wonderful people at Huepar Tools and the chance to sample a part of the rich culture, heritage, history and modern change in China. They say travel broadens the mind and my eyes have been opened to a beautiful Country with the most welcoming people I have ever encountered.

I was fortunate enough to be asked to speak at their conference covering a variety of topics including their new App launch, a speech from their founder, fellow overseas creators and business owners plus Huepar rewarding excellence within their supply industry.

That was just the tip of the iceberg and I look forward to sharing my experiences through I long form YouTube video when I get chance to film it. Back to the Workshop today!

WHAT A BUILDING!
