Colin started Gwent Memorials https://gwentmemorials.co.uk/ in the mid 1990s to run alongside his existing job with support by his son, Ian's, Memorial Masonry business in the West Country . Gwent Memorials has always been organised with the strong ethos of always explaining to the bereaved families the different types of stone and granite available for headstones and memorials, the way they are

installed (fixed), types of memorial lettering, provide assistance with composing the headstone inscription and what headstones are and are not allowed in Council Cemeteries and in Churchyards. We realise that in many cases customers may not have had to deal with the purchase of a memorial previously and need help and advice

Gwent Memorials is registered with BRAMM (British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons) and has two memorial fixers with a BRAMM Fixers' Licence
All Memorial Masons and Local Councils registered with BRAMM undertake to ensure that all memorial erected comply with British Standard 8415:2018

Well what can be said about this amazing memorial we recently installed in Llanfoist Cemetery, Abergavenny.

It’s Forest Stone with a pitched back and highly polished front with hand painted memorial grade black letters, finished with a matching flower pot.

Sometimes when you’ve finished installing a memorial which is a privilege in itself, you stand back and think wow….that is very nice indeed.
The family love it and took the time to send us a lovely email. It compliments the memorial to the side of it as it’s the same sort of stone and lettering.

We really like this Honed Flint Grey memorial that we have installed up in St. Cadoc’s, Trevethin.

It’s a granite memorial finished with Memorial grade silver letters that really stand out in this finish.
Installed to the latest BRAMM requirements using ground anchor and stainless steel dowels to ensure safety and stability.
It really is a fabulous looking memorial to a much loved family member.

One of our latest installations in a hot morning in Christchurch, Newport. Allways amazes me how big that cemetery is….huge.
A stunning memorial in Dark Grey Granite with natural carved roses that follow the pitched edges.
All installed using a new foundation, ground anchor and stainless steel dowels.
Memorial grade Silver letters and a matching flower pot really do shine bright in the summer sun.
A fabulous memorial to a much loved family member.

I probably chose the hottest day this year to install this fabulous dark grey Granite Memorial up in St. Cadoc’s Church, LLangattock Lingoed. Allways like coming back here it’s where I did my memorial fixes license test and it’s a lovely location to work in.
Some rally nice little details on the memorial and it was looking stunning in the sunshine.
All fitted on a brand new foundation to the latest BRAMM requirements using a ground anchor and stainless steel dowels.

Customer called us to say how delighted he was with the memorial and we are very happy with the fitting tribute to a much loved family member.

Our customer needed an additional inscription for her family memorial. So we removed the headstone from Christchurch, Newport, after agreeing with the customer on wording we matched up the font and set to work.
All new letters painted Iain go memorial grade 23 carat Gold paint. We painted the faded letters on the base and re installed it.
We used a new foundation and fitted it using stainless steel dowels and a ground anchor, ensuring stability and safety.
The customer is over the moon and delighted with the memorial. A fitting tribute to a much loved family member.

Wow…..what can I say about this stunning family memorial. It stands tall and is very impressive but also very powerful in the loving messages for lost family members.

It’s a triple heart 4” black granite memorial with a family member in each heart. All letters have been gilded in Gold and they shine bright on the spring sunshine up in St Cadoc’s Trevethin.
All installed to the latest BRAMM requirements using a ground anchor and stainless steel dowels.

A big clean and polish at the end just to show it off in all its glory.

Another lovely memorial installed on a lovely day down in LlwynCelyn Cemetery Cwmbrân.
A simple design, on highly polished Black Granite. We think it’s very nice indeed and our customer is delighted with this. All finished with a matching Silver flower pot and memorial grade Silvet letters.

We really like this latest installation of a light Grey granite memorial in Panteg cemetery.
The weather was stunning and the memorial really stood out shining bright in the spring sunshine.

We fitted this memorial back in 2012 up in Blaenavon Cemetery and we were contacted again by the family again to add an additional inscription. They also wanted some more detail added in memory of a much loved family member.
We removed the stone, matched up the font on the letters, added the graphic of a pigeon and hand painted all the letters in memorial grade Gold. It’s quite difficult to tell the difference between the old and the new inscriptions. Finished off with two matching Gold flower pots.

All reinstalled to the latest BRAMM requirements using a ground anchor and stainless steel dowels ensuring saftey and stability.
