The same joinery can take on very different roles across a home.
In the kitchen, storage for children's art supplies and toys sits beside a homework and reading nook, creating a place for colouring, schoolwork, and the things that gradually spread across family life. In the hallway, cloak storage defines the start and end of the day, with a place to sit while putting on or taking off shoes, space for hanging coats, and discreet storage above. A solid oak benchtop creates a natural stopping point, while the discreet corner bench storage makes use of every inch as routines move from one part of the home to the next.

The smaller parts of a routine tend to take up more time than expected, from choosing clothes and getting ready to putting things back and finding a designated place for everything used throughout the day. Finished in Little Greene's 'Hopper No. 297', this wardrobe brings those moments together, with solid tulipwood mouldings and curved ends softening the look, giving the space a quieter, more personal feel. The vanity desk adds another layer of practicality, with a pull-out socket drawer keeping hairdryers and accessories close at hand, while solid oak drawer inserts keep essentials organised and easy to reach.

Over time, a good bookcase becomes one of the most used things in a room, quietly holding everything from favourite books to the smaller essentials that tend to gather nearby. The first brings together light-stained, clear-lacquered oak interiors and shelving around a sweeping curved desk front painted in Little Greene's 'Pale Lupin', creating a space that earns its place through daily use, whether for reading or working. The second takes a more traditional turn, finished in Farrow & Ball's 'Stiffkey Blue' with ogee-panelled doors, scotia-profile shelf fronts, and dimmable integrated lighting that adjusts naturally with the room, bright enough for focused night time reading and soft enough to suit the quieter pace of an early morning.

Some kitchens quietly take on more than cooking alone. Between preparing breakfast, unpacking groceries, and reaching for things throughout the day, the smaller details start to matter most. Tall cabinets and oak interiors keep essentials organised, while the antique mirror splashback and reeded glass doors add character throughout the room. Oak spice racks, dovetailed drawers, and an X-frame wine rack support the routines that happen on repeat, making everyday tasks feel easier to move through.

Finished in Farrow & Ball’s ‘School House White’ and ‘Blackout’, this media wall brings together a dark coloured frame around the shelves, picture gallery lighting, and oak doors with linen fabric panels to add character to the room. Books, games, and everyday essentials stay organised across the shelving, creating a space that shifts easily from quiet downtime to a full house gathered around the television.

Some evenings call for a full house; others end with a quiet drink and a few minutes to switch off. The finishes and materials of this bar help create the right atmosphere for both, turning a familiar corner of the home into a place that feels ready for conversation, a nightcap, or the space where everyone naturally gathers.

The best wardrobes support the day without ever drawing attention to themselves. The first one pairs beaded shaker-style doors in Paint & Paper Library's 'Paarl' with antique gold handles, keeping school days, holidays, and everyday routines quietly in order. The other makes use of both alcoves to maximise storage, with Farrow & Ball's 'Strong White', beaded door panels, and integrated LED lighting giving the room a calm, settled feeling from the first outfit of the morning to essentials being put away again at night.

This media wall fits naturally into the way the room is lived in every day. Finished in Farrow & Ball's 'All White', it keeps things feeling light and open. Soft LED lighting adds a gentle glow across the shelves as the evening settles in, while display shelving gives a home to books, games, and the things that get reached for most. Closed cabinets with bead-and-butt-panelled doors are crafted below, keeping everyday essentials organised and out of sight. From slow afternoons to busy evenings with the whole family gathered, this design holds everything together without the room ever feeling cluttered.

This dresser cabinet settles naturally into the pace of the day, from laying the table before dinner to putting everything back once the evening winds down. Farrow & Ball’s ‘Railings’ finish sits against warm walnut veneer to bring contrast and depth, while the painted doors frame the natural grain across the cabinetry. Glass doors and shelving keep glassware, books, and crockery close at hand, holding the things that are reached for often and gradually become part of everyday life at home.

Every detail is created around how the kitchen is actually used. Oak cutlery inserts keep things organised, while Sparkbrook k***s and handles in a satin brass lacquered finish sit comfortably against cabinetry painted in Farrow & Ball's ‘Railings’. Clear lacquered oak interiors and an oak spice rack keep essentials within easy reach while cooking, helping the kitchen feel calm from the first meal of the day to the last thing put away at night.
