Consumer Unit Relocation ⚡️

Another consumer unit relocation completed as part of ongoing electrical improvement works.

The original consumer unit was positioned in an unsuitable location, so the board has been relocated into the cupboard above, providing improved accessibility and positioning for new kitchen layout.

Existing circuits have been correctly extended within a suitable adaptable enclosure, with all connections safely contained and protected.

Each circuit was identified and labelled before being transferred to the new location.

The new installation includes:

🔹NIGLON metal consumer unit
🔹Individual RCBO protection for each circuit
🔹Surge Protection Device (SPD)
🔹Existing circuits correctly extended within a suitable enclosure
🔹All circuits individually identified and labelled
🔹Earthing arrangements maintained throughout
🔹New meter tails installed
🔹Full testing carried out following the alteration

Electrical upgrades completed in Branston ⚡

We recently returned to a previous customer in Branston to complete the next stage of electrical improvements as part of their ongoing property refurbishment.

Works completed included:

🔹Installation of new metal-clad socket outlets within the garage, with cabling installed in surface containment.

🔹Installation of a 6-point AICO mains-powered, interlinked fire alarm system, improving fire detection and protection throughout the property.

🔹Installation of two new wall lights within the living room, including alterations to the existing wiring to suit the new positions.

The existing coving shown around the new wall-light positions is being removed as part of the wider refurbishment works.

It’s always a pleasure to be invited back by customers to carry out further improvements to their homes.

GARAGE REWIRE COMPLETED – LINCOLN ⚡

Another stage of this property’s electrical upgrade completed today.

The existing garage installation had a mixture of aged wiring, outdated protection and alterations added over the years, so the old system was isolated and stripped out completely.

🔹Wiring isolated and redundant cabling removed
🔹New 6mm supply on dedicated circuit
🔹Linian super clips used externally
🔹Garage rewired for lighting and socket circuits
🔹New NIGLON garage consumer unit installed
🔹Individual RCBO protection to each circuit
🔹Surge Protection Device (SPD) installed
🔹Installation tested and labelled on completion

We’re back tomorrow to upgrade the property’s main consumer unit, improving the overall protection and safety of the installation.

This is all part of a phased electrical upgrade, with a full rewire of the property to follow.

Electrical problems don’t always start with a complete loss of power. Often, your home will give you warning signs that something isn’t quite right.

🔹Sockets feeling warm or suddenly stopping working
🔹 Breakers repeatedly tripping, even after being reset
🔹Flickering or unreliable lighting, despite changing bulbs
🔹 Burning smells around sockets or switches

⚡️ NEW PROJECT — BISHOP NORTON ⚡️

We’ve been a little quiet on here over the past week after a quick family trip to Seville 🇪🇸 but we’re back and straight into another busy spell!

This morning we started the full rewire on this ongoing renovation project in Bishop Norton.

As you can see, there’s some serious work happening to this property with walls coming down, exposed stonework, new layouts and plenty of character being retained, this is going to be a brilliant transformation.

There are also a lot of special electrical features planned throughout, so we’ll be working alongside the renovation as it progresses and sharing plenty of updates along the way.

Stay tuned — this one will be worth following from start to finish.

We’re also out quoting like crazy this week with the diary filling up for upcoming projects.

Just over 3 months in the game and Mollie has completed her first consumer unit upgrade — safe to say, I’m impressed 👏

A bit of a role reversal today… Mollie was the one barking out orders on the tools while I was on sweeping duties and loading the van.

All completed under supervision, with every connection checked and the installation fully inspected and tested on completion.

For someone this early into her first year, she’s doing a superb job.

New Feature Lighting – Welton📍

Back in Welton today for returning customer Tracey, giving the lighting throughout her home a fresh upgrade.

🔹New feature light fittings installed in WC and Living room
🔹New LED down lighters in hallway and porch
🔹Main bedroom light centred and upgraded
🔹New up/down LED outside lights installed
🔹Ceiling repairs and waste removal taken care of by us

It’s amazing how much of a difference changing the lighting can make to a home — some really nice choices on this one.

We’ve recently become aware of comments suggesting that one of our previous jobs was a “dodgy job” because filled areas around new sockets and spotlights were not sanded or painted.

We’d like to clear something up.

As electricians, our role is to carry out electrical work professionally and in full compliance with current regulations.

When installing new sockets, spotlights or altering wiring, some making good is often unavoidable. We can’t magic cables into place but we try our best to always make good where we can.

Although decorating and plastering are not part of an electrician’s trade, we still take the time to fill small holes and chases as a courtesy to our customers. On larger projects, such as full rewires, we even subcontract plasterers to complete the repairs before any decorating takes place.

It’s important to remember that filler/bonding is intended as preparation for decorating. It is not a finished decorative surface and will always require sanding, skimming and painting to blend in with the surrounding wall.

We’re proud of the standard of our electrical work and always strive to leave every property as tidy as possible. If any customer ever has a concern, we’d much rather they contact us directly so we can discuss it and, where appropriate, put things right.
