🐕 BED BUG DETECTION & TREATMENT FOR YOUR PROPERTY 🐕

Running a hotel, B&B, care home or HMO? Whether you’ve had a reported sighting, a recurring problem or want proactive screening, Planet Pest Control can help.

Our bed bug detection dogs help locate activity, including infestations that can be difficult to spot early on. We also provide a completely none toxic targeted steam and desiccant treatments plan, giving you detection and treatment through one team.

Recently, we screened more than 20 rooms at a hotel that had been battling bed bugs for nearly 18 months. Eight rooms were identified as affected, ranging from early activity to heavy infestations. Following treatment, the hotel was reporting no further sightings in those rooms by day 21.

Every property is different, but we’ve seen a significant reduction in callbacks since introducing this approach.

• Canine screening across multiple rooms
• Targeted steam and Chinchex treatments
• Follow-up inspections and practical prevention advice
• Discreet support for accommodation providers and care settings

Covering Lincolnshire, the East and West Midlands, Yorkshire and the Humber, plus selected areas across the East of England and the South East

An absolute game changer for our bed bug treatments

I’ll admit, I was a little sceptical about ChinChex at first, but the results we’re seeing when using it as part of a targeted treatment approach have really impressed me.

We recently treated a hotel where almost half the rooms were affected by bed bugs. At our follow-up inspection 21 days later, we found no signs of live bed bugs in the treated rooms. A fantastic result for us and, more importantly, for the client.

Thorough inspection, attention to detail and getting the treatment into the right places all play a huge part. Having a product like this in our toolkit has made a real difference.

Credit where it’s due — really impressed with this one!

Yesterday’s job was a particularly sobering one.

We were asked to clear a flat following the death of an elderly gentleman. The property had a significant bed bug infestation and needed to be completely cleared before a full treatment could be carried out.

It was difficult not to feel for the old chap. An entire lifetime of belongings was reduced to half a dozen bags, ready to be removed from the property. Jobs like this remind you that pest control isn’t always simply about treating pests—sometimes you’re stepping into somebody’s life during very sad circumstances.

The flat was carefully cleared, with infested items safely contained and removed, before a thorough bed bug treatment was carried out.

Bed bugs can affect anyone and are nothing to be ashamed of. However, they can spread quickly and become extremely difficult to control if the early signs are missed. Look out for:

• Small dark spots around mattresses and bed frames
• Cast skins or eggs around sleeping areas
• Unexplained bites, particularly after sleeping
• Live insects hiding in mattress seams, headboards or furniture

If you suspect bed bugs, avoid moving bedding or furniture into other rooms, as this can spread the infestation. Professional treatment should be arranged as early as possible.

Planet Pest Control provides thorough bed bug inspections, steam treatments and professional desiccant treatments for domestic and commercial properties.

We’ve been a little quiet on social media… and that’s actually a good thing!

The last few weeks have been incredibly busy here at Planet Pest Control, with early starts, late finishes, and plenty of miles covered across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and beyond.

• Lots of wasp nest treatments (it’s definitely that time of year!)
• Rodent inspections and proofing work still keeping us busy, even through the summer.
• A number of bed bug inspections and treatments for both domestic and commercial clients.
• We’ve also welcomed two new commercial customers onto ongoing pest management contracts this month.

Behind the scenes, things are moving too…

We’re now a preferred pest control supplier for a national company, and we’re already planning the next stage of Planet Pest Control’s growth, including bringing another team member on board to help us support more customers and expand the areas we cover.

To everyone who has trusted us with their homes and businesses recently, thank you. Your recommendations, reviews and continued support genuinely mean a lot to a small independent business.

We’ve got some exciting things planned over the coming months, so keep an eye on the page—we’ll be sharing more of what we do, behind-the-scenes content, pest advice, and hopefully a lot more success stories.

As always, if you need professional pest control advice or treatment, we’re only a phone call away.

“Super” bed bugs? Why professional treatment matters.

Recent news reports have highlighted growing concerns that some bed bug populations are becoming more resistant to certain insecticides. While not every infestation involves resistant bed bugs, it does reinforce one important point…

Simply spraying an aerosol from the supermarket often isn’t enough.

At Planet Pest Control, we don’t rely on a single product. We use an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, which combines:

• Thorough inspection to identify all harbourage areas
• Professional dry steam treatment to kill all life stages on contact
• Commercial-grade residual insecticides where appropriate
• Follow-up visits to break the breeding cycle
• Practical advice to help prevent re-infestation

Bed bugs are experts at hiding in bed frames, skirting boards, furniture, electrical sockets and tiny cracks that are easily missed. If the source isn’t found and treated correctly, the problem can quickly return.

“MUTANT” bed bugs are on the rise in the UK – and the creepy crawlies are only getting harder to kill. The number of infestations is dramatically increasing across the country. Sw…

The downside of driving electric… 😖⚡

You finally find a rapid charging station with plenty of bays… only to discover every charging cable has been cut off. 🤦‍♂️

Thankfully it doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it can really throw your day off—especially when you’re covering hundreds of miles for customers.

Back on the road after finding another charger! 🚐⚡

Has anyone else come across this?
