Summer’s kicking in and your lawn is growing strong — now’s the time to give it the TLC it deserves! Here are your June lawn care essentials to keep your grass looking lush, green, and summer-ready:

✂️ Mow Little and Often
Keep your mower blades high (around 3–4cm) and mow regularly. Cutting too short can stress the lawn, especially in warmer weather.

💦 Water During Dry Spells
If the rain holds off, give your lawn a good soak once or twice a week — early morning or evening is best to avoid evaporation. A deep watering encourages strong roots.

🌿 Feed for Summer Strength
A summer feed will give your lawn the nutrients it needs to thrive. We recommend a balanced, slow-release fertiliser — and yes, we can help with that! 😉

🧼 Keep It Clear
Remove leaves, clippings, and debris to avoid encouraging disease or bare patches.

🐛 Keep an Eye Out

🌿💧 Lawn Care Tip: Water Smart, Not Often! 💧🌿

With the dry spell hanging on, it’s more important than ever to treat your lawn right. One of the biggest mistakes people make? Watering too often but not deeply enough.

✅ Water DEEPLY but LESS FREQUENTLY.
Give your lawn a good soak 1–2 times per week instead of light watering every day. This encourages roots to grow deeper, making your grass more drought-resistant.

🌞 Water early in the morning.
Avoid midday evaporation and prevent fungal diseases. Aim for watering between 5–9 AM.

🧼 Sharpen your mower blades.
Dull blades tear grass, causing stress. Clean cuts help the lawn retain moisture.

📏 Don’t mow too short.
Keep grass at about 3 inches high to shade the soil and reduce water loss.

🍂 Leave the clippings!
They act as natural mulch and return nutrients to the soil.

💡 Bonus tip: Consider letting your lawn go a bit dormant — many grasses naturally “sleep” during droughts and bounce back when rain returns.

Coming to the end of the machine work this spring and it’s been a busy one! Scarifying is going backwards to come forwards but the end results of removing so much rubbish from lawns really show it’s worth. Although we’re all enjoying this nice spell of weather were having we certainly could do with a little rain. Although preferrably at night 🌧️
