So, I have a story for everyone… 👀

Today we visited a property that had a leak between the kitchen and conservatory. After carrying out our inspection, we found 3 loose roof panels on the customer’s conservatory.

After speaking with the customer and explaining what we had found, she told us that these had been “repaired” just 6 months ago by somebody local.

The picture below shows the “repair” that she was charged upwards of £150 for. 😳

He had put his ladder up the side of the house, pushed the closest roof panel up as far as he could, leaving a massive gap, then leaned over and ran a long line of silicone sealant along one edge.

And that wasn’t all…

Multiple gutter joints and bends had also been filled with No Nails and silicone, when the proper solution would have been to replace the perished rubber seals — costing less than £1 each!

We’ve now rectified the shoddy work and got everything back to how it should be. ✅

🚨 THE MORAL OF THE STORY 🚨

When having ANYONE work on or service your property:

✅ Get multiple quotes
✅ Check their reviews
✅ Make sure they’re a credible business
✅ Check they have the correct insurance
✅ NEVER hand over money until you’ve inspected the work

I’ve seen this so many times, and we’ve had to remedy countless jobs where people have been ripped off and taken advantage of with poor workmanship.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and if you’re unsure, ask someone you trust for a second opinion.

Stay safe, and don’t let someone take advantage of you or your property.
