Greener Hassocks & Ditchling are hosting Dave Goulson, Professor of Biology at the University of Sussex and author of Eat the Planet Well, who’ll be talking about food, our health and the impact our food choices have on nature.

A chance to hear from Dave, ask questions and perhaps come away with a few things to think about next time you’re doing the food shop🐝

Venetia’s home in Bishopstone is nearing the end of a deep retrofit and loft conversion.

There’s triple glazing and external wall insulation, alongside some more unusual solutions — a homemade cork screed, heat pumps for heating and cooling, and 8,000 litres of rainwater storage for the garden.

Two interns, two visits, one big lesson: never underestimate the value of fresh eyes and new perspectives 👀🌞

Syafira (our summer intern from the University of Sussex) climbed onto a school rooftop and discovered that solar panels can be almost invisible from the ground, even while quietly powering the equivalent of 100+ homes a year.

Rob (our newest intern, a renewable energy grad) tagged along with CEO Chris to Berwick Solar Farm and came face to face with deer grazing peacefully among the panels, while the conventional field next door sat empty and parched.

When you’re deep in the day-to-day, it’s easy to stop noticing the details. That’s exactly why fresh perspective matters, it reminds us why this work counts.
