This eclectic kitchen has proved a firm favourite for our Instagram followers, and we can see why; the combination of bold, contrasting colours on the custom cabinetry, kitchen island and doors, the beautiful metalwork from Allan Cooper, and the clients’ personal collection of art make this kitchen-come-living-area feel like a space where you could be truly creative.

"It's been in my house now for more than seven years, and it looks just as beautiful today as it did seven years ago." - The kitchen's client.

Our kitchens are built to last, with high-quality materials both inside and outside - not just where visible on the surface.

Artwave is truly an event that captures the spirit of Lewes: exceptional artists, creatives and makers, and warm hospitality from 170 hosts - from showrooms and galleries like ours, to people's living rooms and gardens.

We're a proud local business, share the same craft-first mentality and we were proud to support a young local artist in . It was huge success, with Eddie gaining plenty of sales, comissions and plenty of new fans.

We'll be keeping Eddie's art on display going forward, in the showroom gallery space in our basement. Please come down and visit, and give@eddieclarkartist a follow.

See you next year

Got a few dozen records and nowhere to put them?

Our process is made to measure, with a bespoke vinyl storage unit top of the agenda for this client. It was part of a wider kitchen redesign that brought music into the heart of the hosting space.

We used Horizontal grain throughout for a decorative detail that reveals the Bamboo ply construction, which was awarded Best Use of Materials at the 2021 awards.

Our kitchens are designed to leave an impression. This kitchen combines dark, rich colours with abundant natural light to create an artistic atmosphere.

The cabinets are constructed from dark oak, featuring either an ebony black-oiled or dark grey painted finish. The countertops and backsplash, including the waterfall worktop on the central kitchen island, are made from rugged concrete.

Designing for the differently abled.

At Alistair Fleming Design, one of the great pleasures of our job is that each new project is unique to the client we're making for. All of our customers have specific needs for the furniture we make for them, as each kitchen will be used in its own unique way.

Familiar requirements include tailoring the height of the work surface to suit the exact height of the person preparing the food, so backs are not taxed whilst working, and everything is within reach. Similarly, we place the height of ‘eye-level’ ovens at our client’s actual eye-level, and place lighting in specific areas; intensity, colour spectrum and reflective surfaces are all considered to suit the eyesight of the cook.

A little scandi inspiration for a warm and bright week. We worked closely with to bring this gorgeous family kitchen to life. Enhanced with natural light flooding in, a custom seating area nestles alongside a Kitchen and Pantry, outfitted with Miele appliances, and the gorgeous combination of a sink and Talis tap.
