An old redundant power point brought back to life and expanded it into a double usb socket, working through some tricky old conduit wiring to get there. Wall light removed and made safe, bathroom fan replaced too. All done and ready ahead of a new media wall going in.

🔌 Two problems. One visit. Leith landlord sorted.

This is what we found in the open plan living space — an extension lead running across the floor, powering the fridge and the wifi router off a single socket in the dining area.

Not just untidy. A continuous load appliance like a fridge on an extension lead is a liability. And in an open plan space that cable is crossing every time someone walks through.

We moved the socket through the stud wall to the kitchen side where it was actually needed, upgraded it to a double, and blanked off the old position. While we were there, we relocated an electric panel heater in the living room area to a better wall position and lost the flex that had been clipped along the skirting.

Tracey's verdict: "Brilliant, that looks great. Will not hesitate to pass on your details."

New kitchen, new electrics — here’s how it came together 💡

Tracey’s beautiful new Wren kitchen in Leith needed the hob, oven, extractor and under-cabinet lighting all connected up, plus the old switches and sockets swapped for stainless steel to finish the look.

A site visit before starting meant a couple of extra connections were planned in from the start rather than discovered halfway through the job. Kept everything running smoothly from first fix to completion.

The finished result? Those brick slips look fantastic with the under-cabinet lighting on ✨

Decorator’s in next to finish off around the brick slips and sockets, so full reveal coming soon 👀

Bathroom Extractor Fan Replacement 🔧

Swapped out this tired, clogged up extractor fan for a modern unit on a recent job.

As part of the install we ran a new supply from the existing switch, adding a dedicated isolator and bringing both a permanent feed and a switched boost feed to the new fan.

This allows the fan to run on a permanent low speed trickle — meaning it’s constantly removing moisture from the bathroom even when not in use. Less condensation, less chance of damp and mould building up over time.

A small upgrade that makes a big difference, especially in older properties.

⚡️Robotic lawnmower install — powered up properly. 🤖🏡

This customer had a robotic mower but no outdoor power source to run it from. We ran an armoured cable, clipped it neatly to the house, and finished it off with a Hager IP66 weatherproof outdoor socket on the garden wall — rated for full outdoor exposure.

No extension leads, no workarounds. Just a clean, safe, permanent solution. 👍🏻

This past week, we had the pleasure of tackling a couple of projects that brought some great improvements:

💡 Lights Upgrade

We replaced and repositioned the lights, giving the property a fresh, modern vibe that truly enhances its appeal.

🪛 Lighting Fault for a Valued Client

We returned to assist a familiar face who had an issue with one of their undercounter lights. After a quick investigation, we found that one of the three lights wasn’t receiving power. We resolved it by running a new feed from a working light to the faulty one, and now everything is shining brightly again!
