Here are some pictures from a recent property we’ve completed work on in Astley 📍

The owner of this property was unhappy with the appearance of the existing brickwork and wanted a cleaner, more professional finish.

We repointed the entire property using a lime-based mortar, carefully raking out the existing mortar using our dust control system throughout which helped keep mess and disruption to a minimum.

Even before the scaffolding has been removed, you can see the difference repointing makes to the overall appearance of the property.

Kicking the week off with work on this period property in Astley 📍

We’ll be carrying out some essential maintenance work on the chimneys, followed by repointing to help protect and preserve the property for years to come.

Another repointing project completed in Horwich 📍

The existing pointing had previously been carried out using a cement-based mortar and had been raked out to an incorrect depth. This was trapping moisture within the masonry, resulting to damp issues internally.

To resolve the issues we raked out the existing cement-based mortar to the appropriate depth and repointed using a lime-based mortar.

Lime based mortar allows the masonry to breathe and moisture to evaporate naturally, helping to prevent moisture from becoming trapped within the walls and reducing the risk of internal damp issues.

For an added layer of protection we also applied a breathable water sealant whilst the gable end of this property is very exposed to the elements.

Another full property transformation we’ve recently completed in Culcheth.

We raked out all the old mortar, using our dust-control system to keep everything as clean and controlled as possible.

The property was then fully repointed in a sand and cement mortar, giving the brickwork a fresh, clean finish and plenty of protection for the years ahead.

The bottom half of the front of this property was looking tired, with worn and weathered paint taking away from its overall appearance.

Working alongsideUltrablast UK Ltd we brought it back to life and gave it a fresh, brand-new look.

Ultrablast carefully stripped away the existing paint, after which we raked out the pre-existing mortar and repointed the brickwork using a lime-based mortar. Here are some before and after photos from a bungalow we’ve recently completed in Blackrod.

This property is over 60 years old and was in need of a refresh. We carefully raked out the existing mortar using dust-control to keep mess to a minimum, before repointing the property in a sand and cement mortar.

A huge transformation we’ve been working on in Tyldesley with 🧱

This property was suffering from damp issues, while the exterior had also become tired and weathered.

To restore the property stripped the existing paintwork & carried out a brick clean. We then raked out the existing mortar using dust control and repointed the brickwork in a lime based mortar.

The result is a complete transformation, bringing the property back to life while restoring its character. Not only is the aesthetic improved but this provides added protection and helps restore the integrity of the brickwork, ensuring the property remains structurally sound for many years to come.

Lowton 📍

The customer originally enquired about having the brickwork chemically cleaned but after assessing the property, we advised that a chemical clean wasn’t necessary.

Instead, we recommended a careful rake and repoint using a traditional lime-based mortar. This approach not only achieved the fresh, clean appearance they were looking for, but also helped preserve the character and original features of the property.
