A slightly different job in Rayleigh. The wind had caught a customer's door and literally ripped the hinges apart!! 😬🌬️😱😱

Thankfully, it was a straightforward fix. Three new hinges fitted, the door realigned, and everything back to opening and closing as it should. 🤗

It doesn't take much for a strong gust of wind to cause a surprising amount of damage, especially if a door is caught unexpectedly.

Another happy customer and another door saved from an early retirement! 👍😂

A little while ago, I mentioned that I would be stocking 1⭐ euro cylinders on the van and passing on the savings I'd negotiated directly to my customers. 🤗

Well, the stock has arrived, the van has been loaded up, and I'm ready to go! 🔐

I know people are looking for value for money more than ever, which is why I wanted to offer a higher level of security without increasing the price. 😉

These cylinders offer improved protection over standard cylinders and are now part of my regular stock, meaning I can upgrade many locks on the spot without ordering parts and coming back another day. 🥳

It's all about giving customers the best possible service, fair pricing and helping to keep homes secure. 🥰

It’s been a bit of a locking mechanism marathon over the last couple of days! 🔐

The first job was in Thorpe Bay, where a customer had actually been locked out of their house. Once I gained entry, it quickly became clear that the locking mechanism had failed, which was why the key wouldn’t operate the door properly. ✅

Next stop was Thorpe Bay Broadway to a local funeral directors. They couldn't lock the back door, which thankfully only needed a few adjustments to get it working again. However, the front door wasn't quite so lucky... the locking mechanism had completely failed. Fortunately, I had the correct replacement on the van, so it was soon back up and running. ✅

Then it was on to Stanford-le-Hope. I visited the previous day to diagnose the problem and ordered the necessary parts. Both the front and back doors had faulty locking mechanisms, so I returned to fit the replacements and carry out the necessary adjustments to get everything working smoothly again. ✅

It just goes to show that when a door starts to become difficult to lock, unlock, or operate, it’s usually trying to tell you something. Getting it checked early can often save a lot of inconvenience later on! 💯

Hopefully, you'll never need a locksmith, but if you do, it's far better to already have the number of someone you trust than to search online in a panic. 😉

I see far too many people caught out by rogue locksmiths charging excessive prices when customers are at their most vulnerable. 😡

I honestly can’t thank my customers enough for the support, recommendations and kind words people take the time to leave after jobs. Every review genuinely means a lot, especially as most of my work comes from local people recommending me to friends and family. 🥰

Running your own business has its stressful moments, but days like today make it all worthwhile. 💯

As a dad, I honestly couldn’t be prouder of Amy and everything she’s doing with Paws Out Loud 🐾🙌

She’s worked incredibly hard to get her own grooming salon up and running, and it’s amazing seeing her featured in the Echo newspaper for something she genuinely loves doing. 🥳📰

Ever since she was tiny, she’s always wanted to be around dogs, and now she’s living that dream every single day. 🫶

One thing I’m especially proud of is the environment she’s creating. She wanted a calm space where nervous dogs can be groomed one at a time without the stress and noise that some salons can have... and now she’s able to offer exactly that! 💯

We’ve actually nicknamed the salon “The Dog House” 😄 so now whenever anyone asks where Amy is, the answer is usually… “She’s in the dog house again!” 😂

Keep going Amy, you’re smashing it! ❤️🐶

I’ve been getting quite a few jobs from the council lately, helping to secure and make public toilets around the area safe. 😁

They might not be the most glamorous jobs I attend, but they’re incredibly important... especially in disabled facilities that people in the community rely on to be open, secure, and usable when needed. 💯

The first job was at Southchurch Park, where a disabled public toilet kept getting vandalised because they had lost the keys for the roller shutter and couldn’t secure it properly. I fitted a new lock, so it can now be locked safely and, hopefully, protected from further damage. 🙌

The second job was at Chalkwell Beach, where the cleaners couldn’t access another public toilet because of a lock issue. Thankfully, I got it sorted quickly and managed to grab a nice picture while I was there. I’m not always this lucky with the weather, though, more often than not, I’m turning up in pouring rain and getting soaked. 🤣😂

But when duty calls, there are no excuses!! 👍

It’s nice to know the work I do helps keep important community facilities safe, secure and available for the people who need them. 🥰

A little bit of good news at a time when everything seems to be going up in price…

I’m now going to be stocking 1⭐ euro cylinders in my van for the same price as standard cylinders. 🤗

For anyone who doesn’t know, a 1⭐ cylinder offers a higher level of security than a basic standard cylinder, so this is a really worthwhile upgrade without extra cost.

I know people are watching what they spend at the moment, so after negotiating a better price, I wanted to pass that saving directly onto my customers rather than keep it to myself. 😁🤝🫶

Better security, same price, and fitted properly! 👍

Here is the update on my customers who got scammed. I arrived, and honestly… I was stunned by what I found. 🤦😡

The poor couple had been massively overcharged and left with damaged locks and handles on top of it all. 😱

All sorted now, and the door is finally working properly again, but how some of these people sleep at night, I honestly don’t know.

Please, please make sure you know who you’re calling before agreeing to any work. 🙏🙏
