A small consumer unit upgrade and EICR we’ve just carried out.

We were contacted by one of our customers who were planning to move house and relocate up north.
They wanted a smooth sale process and wanted to get some jobs done around the house before hand. So they asked us if we could upgrade their consumer unit and look at a few potential issues they knew about, mainly DIY issues caused by themselves. It happens!!
We advised first that we carry out an Electrical installation condition report (EICR). This would identify the issues they knew about and any issues they didn’t.
We then carried out the consumer unit upgrade, fixed any other issues and issued them a satisfactory EICR, which would also benefit them in the sale process of their house.
Our customers were over the moon with our service from job quotation to job completion and left us a great review 5⭐️

We’ve received six 5⭐️ reviews on Google and which trusted traders over the last week, which we’re very proud of and grateful for. This one stood out to us the most!

Admittedly, one of the biggest frustrations people have when dealing with trades is communication. As our business has grown, we’ve realised just how important that is. We’re not perfect, but over the last year I’ve been working hard to improve this side of the business and now also have an automated booking system in place which takes you from the initial job quotation visit right through to job completion. You get booked slots and automated reminders for every part of the job. No more “we might come next week” or just not reply to you like you may get with a lot of contractors.
So on top of a great job you get a great service too.
Anyway back to the review. So yes we know it’s working and our customers like it 🙌

This week you’ll find us working on a house rewire in Newton Linford. We’re installing a new consumer unit with rcbo and surge protection, oven and hob supplies, sockets, lighting, central heating and new garage electrics. We’re also organising the plasterers for our customer, which will be carried out before coming back to 2nd fix. Our aim is to make the process hassle free for our customer whilst on their home renovation journey 🏠🔨

🚬🔥🏠🚒

This week we attended a call out to a flat in Loughborough town centre to assess the damage to an electrical installation after a fire which was believed to be caused by cigarette. The local fire and rescue service who put the fire out had isolated the electrical supply whilst extinguishing the fire.
There was hope that some of the electrical supply could be re-instated, but due to the extent of the damage we soon came to the conclusion that it was safer to leave it isolated and locked off until further investigation work could be carried out.
Fortunately this property had smoke alarms installed, which would have given anyone inside more time to evacuate and alert emergency services. Had they not been installed the outcome could have been a lot worse.
We still come across properties, even rented properties which don’t have smoke alarms or smoke alarms which past their “use by date”
Incidents like this show us the importance of having smoke alarms properly fitted and maintained whether it’s in your home, a rental or business.
