The primary role of a Swedish cowl is to prevent rain from entering back into the ducting system, however, Swedish cowls are a preferred termination method by the HSE in most fume extraction systems.

A Swedish cowl is often used in areas experiencing high winds, helping to protect from backflows. Also referred to as a jet cowl, they help to boost the extraction of smoke and fumes and while preventing wind, rain from entering the ducting.

Used in both commercial and domestic environments, this duct cowl helps to enhance a systems performance and extends its lifespan.
