Bit of a surreal one to write this…

A lot of you know how much the last few years have meant to me building Stotto — the graft, the risks, the ups and downs, and the people who’ve been part of it along the way. It’s never just been about work for me, it’s always been about building something I’m proud of with people I care about.

So today feels pretty special.

We’ve just completed on an opportunity to take on and continue the work of two brilliant family-run businesses in the stone and surfaces world. Proper businesses, built over years with real pride and reputation — the kind you don’t come across every day. One in York and one in London.

I won’t lie, it means a lot to be trusted with something like that.

The new operation is based up in York and will cover the whole of the UK and Ireland, which is mad when I think about it. But it fits exactly with where we’re trying to take things with Stotto, and it feels like a real “this is what we’ve been working towards” moment.

Still a lot to do, and no doubt plenty of challenges ahead, but I’m buzzing to get stuck in and see where we can take it.

Massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me, backed me, or just listened to me talk about it over a pint — you know who you are.

(And yeah… anyone need a worktop? 🤣)

✨ A Dream Space, Built with Patience (and a Lot of Heart!) ✨

We’ve just wrapped up this stunning extension and patio—and honestly, it’s one of those projects that reminds us why we love what we do. 🏡💛

From day one, our wonderful clients brought not just a vision, but an incredible amount of patience and trust. Projects like this take time, care, and plenty of fine-tuning—and they were absolute stars through it all.

The result? A seamless extension featuring a beautiful slate roof with a striking roof lantern, flooding the space with natural light. Inside, a gorgeous Gaddesby kitchen takes centre stage, perfectly complemented by stunning floors by tiling. 🌿✨

Step outside and you’re greeted by a beautifully crafted patio, brought to life by our in-house landscaping team—perfect for long summer evenings, good food, and even better company. ☀️🍷

And of course, a massive shoutout to all the lads who worked tirelessly on this one—your skill, effort, and attention to detail have delivered an incredible finish we’re all proud of. 🙌

To our amazing clients: thank you for your patience, your positivity, and for letting us be part of creating something so special.

Now all that’s left to do… is enjoy it! ✨

Big projects don’t stop for the weather… and neither do we 💪

The team have been powering through the cold while working on this massive flat roof installation. Crisp mornings, frozen tools and plenty of layers — but we’re making great progress and keeping standards high every step of the way.

Flat roofs at this scale take careful planning, precision and teamwork, especially in colder conditions. From insulation and structure to ensuring a flawless, weather-tight finish, it’s all about doing the job properly — whatever the temperature.

Massive credit to the lads on site for their hard work and commitment 👏

Block and beam flying into House of Dental today—nothing like a bit of heavy lifting to keep things interesting! The crane crew nailed the drop, our team kept everything running like clockwork, and now the foundations are looking spot on. Always satisfying to see big pieces come together (and yes, we may have cheered a little when it landed perfectly). Next stop: turning this site into something special!
