** UPDATE ON THE COWBOY BUILDER RIPOUT**

As you can seen things have been moving along really well, whole new Celotex insulation 50mm foil taped joints with 50mm Celotex over boarding again foil taped joints. New 12.5mm plaster boards, new electrical connections and master switch board, new stud work for the shower room. And now getting plastered 🤪. Everything is now how it should be and building control are happy 😊.

A recent job we pulled in for a great customer over in Wigston.

Our bricklayer pulled this one in after working on another site, and he has done a fantastic job in taking up, cleaning and relaying the edging bricks around the steps.

Great clean work and the customer is over the moon with the end product, which is what we always strive for.

** LESSON TO BE LEARNED**

We got called into a job where a rogue builder converted an annex. Stud walls, plumbing, electrical work, plastered and painted

The guy finished the job got paid over £10,000 and all looked good until the building control officer arrived to sign it off!! But rather than signing it off he fully condemned the work that was undertaken🤦‍♂️.

The whole lot has had to be stripped back to the stud work as he forgot to fully insulate the walls upto standard that complies with the British standard U values.

After closer inspection of the electrical work that too don’t comply with the regulations, so it needs a complete rewire also!!

This job is now going to cost this customer another estimated £6,000 plus to put right, and bring it upto standards.

So the lesson is just because Brian from the pub can do it cheap doesn’t mean to say it is going to be correct!! As 9 times out of ten it isn’t going to be and things like this happen.

Don’t always go with the lowest quote trying to save a few quid as like this customer has found out the hard way it will come back to bite you.
