🪵 From Bodge to Beautiful
Sometimes you pull off the hardboard and find… more hardboard. And behind that? A rough timber frame held together with hope and old nails. 😅
This staircase had been hiding behind layers of old cladding for years — but not anymore.
We stripped it right back to the bare bones, rebuilt the structure properly, and replaced the whole balustrade with solid oak newel posts, oak handrail and baserail, and crisp white primed spindles.
Rather than just fitting the parts and leaving the old framework exposed, we clad the fascia beneath the landing run with matching oak board and trim — because the details matter as much as the headline work. 🔨
The contrast of natural oak against white spindles and grey carpet gives it that clean, modern feel the customer was after — and it's built to last a lifetime.
Plastering and finishing still to come, but you can already see exactly where this is heading. 🙌
