As the weather starts to turn, these are the three things we always look at when we go out on a survey. And honestly? They’re worth checking yourself before winter hits properly.

Your flat roof - is it watertight? Any leaking or lifting you can see could let water get in behind the roof before you know it.

Your fascias and soffits - are they in good condition or is there any sign of rotting? It’s easy to miss until it becomes a bigger problem.

And your guttering - is it leaking? And when it rains, are there any wet patches appearing on your ceilings? Whether it’s in the middle of a room or above a window, that’s a sign something needs attention.

All of these will only get worse through the winter weather. The sooner you catch them, the simpler the fix.

Yet another job that came to us through recommendation. We’ve done a few houses on this street now and honestly, we really appreciate it when people shout about us to their neighbours. So thank you - it means a lot.

On this property we fitted new Swish rosewood fascias and soffits, new black square guttering and downpipes, finished off with a grey dry verge to the front. The detailing on this one is really nice. It’s transformed the look of the place.

We first quoted this job a couple of years ago. The gentleman wasn’t well, so the work had to wait. When he was finally coming home from hospital, his wife called us back and asked us to get it done for him.

We did. And he was over the moon with it.

This is part 2 of the Bramhope job we posted yesterday, so if you missed part 1, go check it out.

We were originally called in for the fascias and soffits. But while we were there, we took a closer look at the roof. Good job we did.

The original tiles were cracking and breaking and water was getting in. We showed the customer exactly what we found. They decided to do it properly.

New Marley modern tiles, breathable membrane, tanalised treated roofing lats, and a new dry ridge system all the way around the hips and ridges. Plus a full new roofline - Swish anthracite fascias, soffits and new guttering to finish it off.

That roof isn’t going anywhere - whatever the weather does.

This one came to us through a recommendation from the neighbours - we’d already done their roofline, and we love when that happens. So thank you.

They asked us to take a look at the roof while we were there. Good job they did. It wasn’t in great shape and it was letting water in - not what you want heading into winter.
