Meet Fran, garden designer.
Inspired by her rural upbringing and love of design, Fran creates distinctive outdoor spaces that feel like a natural extension of the home. Her approach is thoughtful and collaborative, with a focus on gardens that are both beautiful and deeply personal.

Fran trained at the Yorkshire School of Garden Design, where she developed a strong eye for composition, texture and seasonal planting. She’s particularly drawn to gardens that balance structure with softness, using planting and materials to shape atmosphere and enhance everyday life.

Warm, professional and detail-oriented, Fran brings genuine enthusiasm to every project—whether it’s a compact courtyard or a larger rural landscape.

There’s nothing quite like the setting sun bathing the garden in a warm glow bringing a new atmosphere to the garden—calm, inviting, and full of character. The perfect end to the day.

At our North Yorkshire project, the terrace has been designed as the perfect spot to soak in these moments. Framed by soft, textured planting and low stone walling to buffer the breeze, it’s a space to gather, unwind, and enjoy the beauty of the changing light.

We’ve been busy working on the first phase of the planting plans for our client’s beautiful Georgian home in Boston Spa. While a full garden design is in the works for the walled garden at the rear, our initial focus has been on the front of the house—creating a welcoming and elegant arrival that complements the timeless architecture.

Carefully chosen planting will enhance the home’s classic charm, offering year-round interest and a sense of anticipation for what lies beyond. Thoughtfully layered textures, colours, and seasonal interest will not only frame the entrance but also build intrigue—hinting at the beautiful interiors and the hidden walled garden at the rear.

With a range of projects, from private gardens to more complex landscapes, we are looking for someone with experience and dedication to guide projects through from concept to completion with care and attention to detail.

Based in the delightful 'Old Kennels' on the Harewood Estate in Yorkshire, our studio is set in a peaceful and inspiring location on the edge of the estate’s deer park.
