Back from 3 days on Ant Middleton’s Challenge The Wild — second time this year, and this one was brutal from start to finish.
It’s all about getting out of your comfort zone and pushing boundaries. There’s no growth in comfort.
Day 1 was pure physical graft:
Beasted for an hour at sunrise, straight onto speed boats across Lake Coniston, then swimming from shore to boat in walking clothes — no wetsuits.
Scaled Ravens Cragg, a grade 1 scramble with ropes and harnesses, then TAB’d 5km back to the lake.
Back on the boats… thrown out mid‑lake… and had to swim to shore and back four more times after failing the mission. Bitter cold, no let‑up.
Just when we thought it was over, Ant had us running around the field SAS‑style for another hour.
Day 2 was the mental battle:
Broken bodies, straight into wetsuits.
Abseiled 50m into a quarry, plunged into icy water, then canyoning through narrow gorges — 4–5m jumps, cliff slides, higher drops, freezing water catching you every time.
What a weekend. Tough, hilarious, unforgettable. Would recommend.
